Description
The Holosun ARO EVO Red 2 MOA is the plain dot, red reticle member of Holosun enclosed 26mm rifle family: a single 2 MOA dot, half MOA adjustment clicks, solar failsafe and both mount heights supplied in the box. Part ARO-EVO-RD-2.

Half MOA Clicks Are The Buried Specification
Adjustments on the Holosun ARO EVO Red 2 MOA move 0.5 MOA per click, where the category standard is 1 MOA. Nobody advertises this and it is the number that decides whether you can actually zero a rifle or merely get close to it.
At a hundred yards each click shifts your impact half an inch. Paired with a 2 MOA dot fine enough that the reticle is not the limiting factor, you can walk a group onto the bull rather than watch it hop from one side to the other. Fifty MOA of total travel in each direction means you have the range to do it on any sane mount height.
Red Is The Efficient Choice, With One Caveat
The Holosun ARO EVO Red 2 MOA emits at 650nm, and red emitters draw less current than green or gold for a given output, and red is the reticle colour most shooters have already trained on. A colour your eye knows is worth something real when you are working against a timer.
Where red struggles is against warm backgrounds: brick, rust, timber, brown cardboard, dead leaves. If your rifle lives on a range shooting white or painted steel, or in built environments, that objection largely disappears and the Holosun ARO EVO Red 2 MOA is the sensible, efficient answer. If you shoot in heavy timber and brush, the green or gold versions of this same sight will serve you better and we stock both.
No Holdovers, And Why That Is Fine
Holosun sells the same housing as the Holosun ARO EVO Red 2 MOA carrying the Special Purpose Reticle, with 1 MOA holdover marks, a 65 MOA circle and ranging references. It is a genuinely good tool if you shoot at known distances and put in the work to learn the subtensions.
The Holosun ARO EVO Red 2 MOA is for the rest of us. If the rifle lives inside two hundred yards the holdovers never get used, and the circle is simply something else in the window. A single fine dot is the cleanest sight picture available, nothing arrives before it on a transition, and there is no menu to learn or change by accident.
Magnifier Ready, And The Dot Size Suits It
The Holosun ARO EVO Red 2 MOA housing is sized to sit in front of a flip to side magnifier. Dot size is the thing people get wrong when they add one later: a reticle subtends a fixed angle, so a 6 MOA dot seen through three power still covers 6 MOA of target and simply looks enormous, obscuring the detail the magnifier just revealed.
A 2 MOA dot stays 2 MOA whatever sits behind it. If a magnifier is anywhere in your plan for the rifle, the Holosun ARO EVO Red 2 MOA is the version to start with rather than the one you replace in a year.
Enclosed, Solar Backed, IPX8
The emitter on the Holosun ARO EVO Red 2 MOA is sealed inside the housing, so rain, snow, mud and lint cannot land on it and dim the reticle. Solar failsafe harvests ambient light and keeps the sight running if the CR2032 dies or is removed, and the cell is rated 50,000 hours at setting six, loading from a side tray so a battery change never means pulling the optic off the rail.
The body is 6061 aluminum, hard anodized, rated IPX8 for immersion and 1000G for vibration, measuring 2.87 by 1.68 by 2.7 inches at 4.3 ounces plus a 1.7 ounce mount. Shake Awake sleeps it when the rifle is still, automatic brightness reads the scene, manual control overrides it when the scene misleads, and lockout freezes everything. Eight daylight settings and four night vision settings.
Both Mount Heights In The Box
Holosun supplies the Holosun ARO EVO Red 2 MOA with a 1.63 inch lower one third co witness mount and a 1.05 inch low mount with the Holosun ARO EVO Red 2 MOA. The taller sits the reticle above backup irons on a standard AR and gives a more upright head position; the lower shrinks your mechanical offset, which is what you want on a pistol caliber carbine or a shotgun. Most manufacturers supply one height and sell you the other.
