Description
The CZ 75 SP-01 50th Anniversary 10 Round is the heavy, rail-equipped service version of the CZ 75, marked for the design’s 50th year. It is an all-steel DA/SA 9mm with a manual thumb safety, luminous sights, a full-length dust cover with an accessory rail and two 10-round magazines.
CZ 75 SP-01 50th Anniversary 10 Round Overview
This is CZ part 01125. The SP-01 extends the frame of the CZ 75 to the muzzle, adding weight up front and an integral 1913 Picatinny rail. The 4.6-inch barrel sits in a steel frame, overall length is 8.15 inches and weight is 40.7 ounces, nearly six ounces more than a standard CZ 75 B. It has a frame-mounted manual safety, rubber grip panels, luminous sights for low light and a Black Polycoat finish with 50th Anniversary engraving. Capacity is 10+1 with two magazines included.
Why the SP-01
The extra steel in the dust cover pulls muzzle flip down, so the SP-01 tracks flatter between shots than most 9mm pistols. That stability made it a favorite of police and military units and the foundation for CZ competition guns such as the SP-01 Shadow and Shadow 2. If you enjoy the CZ 75 grip and trigger but want a softer-shooting, rail-equipped pistol, this is the model to look at.
Manual Safety Carry
The frame safety allows the pistol to be carried cocked and locked, so every shot can be a light single-action pull, or carried hammer down for a double-action first shot. Learn one method and practice it until it is automatic. Unlike the BD models, this pistol has no decocker, so lowering the hammer must be done carefully by hand with the muzzle in a safe direction.
Rail and Lights
The integral rail accepts standard pistol lights and lasers. A weapon light makes the SP-01 a capable home defense pistol, but it adds weight and needs a light-compatible holster, which narrows your holster choices. Plan your holster and light together.
10-Round Configuration
The factory 10-round magazines let residents of capacity-limited states such as California, Colorado, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Washington buy without modified magazines. Higher-capacity SP-01 magazines exist, but they must not be added where they are prohibited.
Honest Caveats
At more than 40 ounces unloaded, the SP-01 is a range, competition and home pistol rather than a comfortable all-day carry gun. Its luminous sights fade over time and are not the same as replaceable fiber optics. Engraved anniversary pistols are limited production, and many owners keep them as collectibles. Parts and service come through CZ-USA in Kansas or from the factory overseas and can take time.
State Laws and Ownership
Handgun laws vary widely. Some states require purchase permits or licenses, some maintain approved handgun rosters, and many limit magazine capacity or restrict features. Check your state and local laws, including any roster, before ordering. Handguns ship only to a licensed dealer in your state of residence.
