TriStar Bristol SxS 12 Gauge 28 Case Color Overview
The Bristol is a classic English-style side by side: case colored receiver, straight grip, splinter-style forend and a brass front bead. It has a single selective trigger, so you can choose which barrel fires first with the selector on the top tang safety, and automatic ejectors kick spent hulls clear when you open the action. The chambers are 3 inch, and the chambers and bores are chrome lined for corrosion resistance and easy cleaning. It ships with five Beretta-style choke tubes (Skeet, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified and Full).
74 pounds with a 14 1/4 inch length of pull.
Upland Classic
A straight-grip side by side carries easily and points naturally, which is why it has been the traditional choice for quail, grouse, pheasant and woodcock for more than a century. The 28 inch barrels give a smooth swing on crossing birds without feeling long in the uplands.
The Safety and Barrel Selector
The safety slides on the top tang, back is safe and forward is fire. Moving the selector left or right picks which barrel fires first, so you can shoot the more open choke first on close-flushing birds and the tighter choke second.
Chokes for Every Job
With five choke tubes included, you can open up to Skeet or Improved Cylinder for close birds and clays, or tighten to Modified or Full for late-season pheasants. Only use chokes rated for steel shot when shooting steel, and remove and clean the tubes regularly.
English Stock Fit
A straight English stock suits shooters who like to slide their hand slightly on the grip between shots with a two-trigger feel, and it looks classic in the field. Check length of pull and drop for your build; a gunsmith can fine-tune fit if needed.
Value
The Bristol gives you features usually found on far more expensive doubles, including ejectors, a single selective trigger, case colors and select walnut, at a price working hunters can justify.
State Laws
Check your local laws and state hunting regulations before ordering.
Care and Maintenance
Clean the bore and chokes after each outing, wipe the action and receiver with a light oil, and remove and clean choke tubes regularly so they do not seize. Dry the shotgun thoroughly after rain or salt air and store it unloaded in a locked safe.
Choosing Ammunition
Match your shells to the job: light target loads for clays, heavier field loads for upland birds, and steel or other non-toxic shot where waterfowl rules require it. Check the chamber length on the barrel and never fire shells longer than the chamber.
Recommended Accessories
Eye and ear protection, a cleaning kit, extra choke tubes, a shell pouch and a padded case are smart additions.
