Description
The ATI Alpha Maxx 410 takes the controls, the ergonomics and the accessory rails an AR shooter already knows and wraps them around a magazine-fed 410 bore semi-automatic shotgun. If you have ever wanted a scattergun that reloads like a carbine, this is the answer.

What the ATI Alpha Maxx 410 Brings to the Table
Traditional pump and break-action 410s are slow to load and slower to top off. The ATI Alpha Maxx 410 feeds from a five-round polymer AR-style magazine that drops free from a beveled magwell, so reloads take a second rather than a minute. The gas system is adjustable, which lets you tune the action for light target loads or heavier defensive buckshot without gunsmithing.
18.5-Inch Threaded Barrel
The 18.5-inch smooth bore barrel keeps the overall package short and quick to swing indoors or through brush. The ATI Alpha Maxx 410 comes threaded with a cylinder choke installed, so you can fit an extended choke tube, a muzzle brake or a breacher device depending on the job. Cylinder bore is exactly what you want for buckshot at close range.
Fully Adjustable Furniture
A six-position ATI-SR1 collapsible stock lets the ATI Alpha Maxx 410 fit a small-framed shooter in a t-shirt and a large shooter in a winter coat. The pistol grip and the 13-inch M-LOK polymer handguard mirror standard AR geometry, so lights, lasers, vertical grips and hand stops all mount with common hardware. There is no learning curve here.
Flip-Up Sights and an Integral Optics Rail
Flip-up front and rear sights fold out of the way when they are not needed and are adjustable when they are. A full-length integral Picatinny rail runs across the top, which makes mounting a red dot straightforward. For a home-defense shotgun or a truck gun, a dot on the ATI Alpha Maxx 410 is a genuine upgrade over a bead.
Manageable Recoil in 410 Bore
This is where the 410 chambering earns its keep. Recoil is a fraction of what a 12 gauge produces, yet a 2.5-inch 000 buckshot load still delivers four serious projectiles. Smaller shooters, younger shooters and anyone with shoulder trouble can run the ATI Alpha Maxx 410 comfortably through a long training session, and the semi-automatic action absorbs even more of the impulse.

Who Should Buy It
Home defenders who already train with an AR platform will feel instantly at home, as will small-statured or recoil-sensitive shooters who find a 12 gauge punishing. It also makes a practical pest and predator gun around a barn or a small property where a rifle round would carry too far.
There are honest drawbacks. Magazine-fed shotguns are notoriously ammunition sensitive, and 410 hulls vary in rim and length, so expect to test several brands before settling on one that feeds flawlessly. Spare magazines are proprietary and not cheap. At 7.52 pounds the gun is not light for the payload it delivers, and the 410 bore simply cannot match 12 gauge terminal performance. Ammunition also costs more per round than 12 gauge in most stores.
Accept those trade-offs and the ATI Alpha Maxx 410 is a genuinely fun, low-recoil, fast-reloading shotgun. See the rest of our selection in the firearms catalog, or review the factory page at American Tactical.
