Rock River Arms Fred Eichler Predator2 Ghost Camo – Superb 16″ 223 Wylde

Description

The Fred Eichler Predator2 Ghost Camo is Rock River Arms’ predator rifle in a full camouflage finish, chambered in .223 Wylde with a 16-inch cryo-treated fluted stainless barrel. It carries a 3/4 MOA accuracy guarantee at 100 yards.

Camouflage That Earns Its Place

Predator hunting is the one discipline where a camouflaged rifle genuinely matters. Coyotes come to a call looking hard at the exact spot the sound came from, and a black rifle against snow or dry grass is an obvious shape. The Fred Eichler Predator2 Ghost Camo breaks that outline up across the whole rifle, receivers, handguard and stock alike, rather than leaving a black gun with a camo wrap on part of it.

3/4 MOA Guarantee

Rock River guarantees this rifle to three-quarters of an inch at 100 yards. Very few semi-automatic rifles carry any accuracy guarantee at all, and 3/4 MOA is tighter than the 1 MOA that premium makers usually quote. That precision comes from the barrel, the chamber and the trigger working together rather than from any one part.

Cryo-Treated Fluted Stainless Barrel

The 16-inch stainless barrel is fluted, bead blasted and cryogenically treated. Cryo treatment relieves internal machining stress so the barrel does not walk as it heats, which is what keeps groups consistent through a string rather than only on the first cold shot. The 1:8 twist handles heavier .224 bullets, which buck wind far better on the open ground predator hunters usually work.

.223 Wylde Chamber

A .223 Wylde chamber accepts both 5.56mm NATO and .223 Remington safely, while giving the tighter freebore that match .223 ammunition wants. You can practise on cheap surplus and hunt on precision loads without changing rifles.

Mid-Length Gas and Free Float Handguard

The mid-length gas system lowers port pressure compared with a carbine-length setup on the same barrel, producing a softer impulse and less sight disturbance between shots. The Frontier Edge free float handguard runs extended with a full length top rail plus 2.5-inch rail sections at three, six and nine o’clock, so a bipod, a light and a call holder can all mount without interfering.

Cold-Weather Details

The Fred Eichler Predator2 Ghost Camo comes with an expanded winter trigger guard, which sounds trivial until you are trying to shoot in heavy gloves at dawn in February. A BCMGUNFIGHTER charging handle with a medium latch and RRA’s two-stage Ultra Match Varmint trigger complete the package. An RRA Frontier Edge brake sits on 1/2×28 threads, and a Hogue rubber grip and Operator CAR stock finish the rifle.

Who Should Buy It

This is a purpose-built calling rifle. If you hunt coyotes, fox or bobcat over open country and want a rifle that disappears against the background while shooting tighter than most bolt guns, this is aimed directly at you.

The Fred Eichler Predator2 Ghost Camo is expensive next to a standard AR-15, because the barrel treatment, trigger, handguard and finish are all upgrades. Camouflage also has a narrower resale audience than a plain black rifle.

Shooters wanting a general-purpose defensive carbine should look at a standard 5.56 rifle, and anyone who prefers a solid colour should compare the tan Predator2 in our catalog. Every firearm we list ships to your chosen FFL and is transferred in accordance with federal and state law.
