Description

The LWRC IC-9 Carbine FDE is a 9mm pistol calibre carbine built to the same standard as LWRC’s centrefire rifles. It runs a 16 inch black nitride threaded barrel, a flat dark earth aluminum receiver with an integrated rail base, and feeds from Glock pattern magazines.
Built Like a Duty Rifle
Most AR-9s are parts guns. LWRC designed the IC-9 as a complete system: the upper receiver uses the company’s integrated rail base so the top rail is part of the receiver rather than bolted on, and the fire control group, charging handle and controls are the company’s own rather than generic.
Controls are fully ambidextrous. The safety, magazine release, bolt release and charging handle all work from either side, which matters more on a carbine you shoot from behind cover than on a bench gun.
LWRC IC-9 Carbine FDE Barrel and Handguard
The barrel is 16 inches with a 1:10 twist and a black nitride finish, threaded 1/2×28 at the muzzle for a suppressor or a muzzle device. Nitride is a surface treatment rather than a coating, so it hardens the bore as well as protecting it against corrosion.
A 12 inch M-LOK rail system surrounds the barrel with direct attachment points for lights, lasers and hand stops. There are no bolt-on rail sections adding bulk, and the profile stays slim enough to run a barrier stop comfortably.
Magazines and Furniture
The IC-9 feeds from Glock pattern 9mm magazines, which is the largest and cheapest magazine ecosystem in the pistol calibre world. It ships with a 27 round magazine, and factory Glock sticks, extended magazines and drums all work.
The stock is an adjustable black polymer unit and the grip is LWRC’s Ultra Combat Grip, a steeper angle than a standard A2 that suits the more upright shooting stance most carbine shooters use now.
Suppressors and Ammunition
The 1/2×28 muzzle thread is the standard 9mm pitch, so most nine millimetre cans thread on directly once the muzzle device comes off. Subsonic 147 grain loads are the usual choice for suppressed shooting, while standard 115 and 124 grain practice ammunition gives the most consistent cycling. Because the action is blowback, very light target loads and very hot +P both change the timing more than the gun prefers.

Why Buyers Choose the LWRC IC-9 Carbine FDE
The LWRC IC-9 Carbine FDE is what you buy when a budget AR-9 has already disappointed you. The receivers, the rail and the fire control group are all LWRC’s own, the controls are genuinely ambidextrous, and the magazine you feed it costs twenty dollars at any gun shop in the country.
Who Should Buy It
Home defense buyers who want a low recoil long gun, agencies and professionals who need a pistol calibre carbine that holds up, and suppressor owners looking for a quiet host. It also suits Glock carriers who want a carbine that shares magazines with their pistol.
Be realistic about the trade-offs. This is priced like a centrefire LWRC rather than like a budget AR-9, blowback nines run dirty by design, and 9mm remains a pistol cartridge regardless of barrel length. No optic or sights are included.
