Black Rain Spec15 Miami Nights 5.56 Overview
Black Rain Ordnance builds its rifles in Neosho, Missouri, and the Spec15 is its core AR-15 line. The Miami Nights edition takes a proven, optic ready rifle and wraps it in one of the boldest Cerakote fades on the market, so it stands out on the firing line and in the safe.
16 Inch Stainless Barrel
The 16 inch stainless steel barrel is chambered for 5.56 NATO, so it also fires 223 Remington. Stainless resists corrosion and is a common choice for accurate AR barrels, and sixteen inches is the shortest legal rifle length without NFA paperwork.
15 Inch Slim M-LOK Handguard
The slim free float M-LOK handguard runs nearly to the muzzle, keeps pressure off the barrel and gives you room for a light, sling mount or grip. The slim profile is comfortable for a variety of hold styles.
Optic Ready Receiver
The upper has a flat top Picatinny rail with no fixed sights, so you can mount the red dot, LPVO or backup iron sights you prefer.
MFT Stock and Magpul Grip
The Mission First Tactical Minimalist stock adjusts to six positions and is very light, while the Magpul MOE grip gives a comfortable, textured hold. Both are standard AR-15 parts that are easy to swap if you prefer something else.
Choosing Ammunition
Standard 55 grain FMJ is fine for practice, and 62 to 77 grain loads often group better for precision work. Pick a quality expanding load if the rifle will be used for home defense.
Cleaning and Care
Clean the bolt carrier group and chamber every few range sessions and keep the bolt lightly lubricated. Wipe the Cerakote down with a lightly oiled cloth.
State Laws
AR-15 rifles and 30 round magazines are restricted or banned in some states and cities. Check your state and local law before you order. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
