Description
The Athlon Optics Midas Blaze TSR2 Red Dot is a compact tube style red dot built for AR-15s, pistol caliber carbines and shotguns. It gives you a crisp 3 MOA dot, ten brightness settings and two mount heights in the box, so you can set it up for almost any long gun.

Athlon Optics Midas Blaze TSR2 Red Dot Overview
Athlon catalogs the Midas Blaze as part 403063. It has a 22mm objective lens, weighs about 5.5 oz and is about 2.8 in long. The chassis is machined in one piece from aircraft grade aluminum, and the sight is nitrogen purged to keep fog out of the optics. The lenses are fully multi-coated to cut reflections and keep the image bright.
Two Riser Heights
The high riser puts the dot at a lower one third co-witness height on an AR-15, so standard iron sights show in the bottom of the window. The included low riser lets you mount the Blaze on lower platforms such as shotguns and some rimfire rifles.

Brightness and Battery
Ten brightness settings are easy to reach and change. One CR2032 battery gives up to about 50,000 hours of run time, so the dot is ready for a long season or a long time in the safe.
A 3 MOA Dot
A 3 MOA dot covers about three inches at 100 yards. It is precise enough for steel at carbine distances and quick enough for close range competition stages and home defense.

Built for Hard Use
Athlon builds its red dots to be waterproof, fogproof and shockproof, and backs them with its Gold Medal Lifetime Warranty. The warranty is transferable and does not require a receipt, so the sight stays covered even if it changes hands.
Why a Red Dot
A red dot lets you keep both eyes open and focus on the target instead of lining up two iron sights. On a carbine or shotgun that means faster shots at close range and an easier time tracking a moving target. Because the dot does not need perfect eye alignment the way a scope does, it works from awkward positions and while moving.
Store Title Note
Our store title calls the Blaze a closed sight. It is a compact tube style red dot with a covered emitter, built for rifles and shotguns.
Zeroing Tips
Most rifle and shotgun shooters zero a red dot at 50 or 100 yards, depending on the gun and how it will be used. Start at about 25 yards to get on paper, then move back and fine tune. Fire small groups before each change, and confirm zero with the ammunition you plan to use.
Battery Care
Replace the battery once a year on a defensive gun, even if the dot still looks fine, and keep a spare in your range bag. Wipe the lens with a soft cloth or lens pen, not a shirt tail, to keep the coatings clean. If the dot seems dim or flickers, check the battery and contacts first.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
