Hi-Point C9 9mm Blue Sparkle Slide – Superb 3.5″ Compact, 8+1

Description

The Hi-Point C9 9mm Blue Sparkle Slide pairs a glittering blue slide with Hi-Point’s black polymer frame, turning the budget-friendly C9 into a pistol with real personality.

Hi-Point C9 9mm Blue Sparkle Slide Overview

Hi-Point model 916BLSP keeps every working part of the C9: a 3.5-inch fixed barrel, an 8-round magazine, three-dot sights with an adjustable rear and about 29 ounces at 6.75 inches long. The slide wears a bright blue metal-flake finish, while the frame stays black. Some retailer listings call this version simply black, so note that the factory photo and model number confirm the blue sparkle slide.

Blowback Design and Build

The C9 uses a straight blowback action with a fixed barrel, a polymer frame and a heavy slide. The fixed barrel helps practical accuracy and the simple design keeps the price low, but the slide mass is why these pistols weigh more than polymer guns of similar size. Hi-Point builds them with American-made parts and assembly and covers them with a lifetime warranty that follows the gun to later owners.

Sights, Safety and Controls

The C9 uses three-dot sights with a fully adjustable rear, so you can zero it for your preferred load. A manual thumb safety and a slide that locks open after the last round are standard, and Hi-Point rates the pistol for +P ammunition. The magazine release sits behind the trigger guard, and the blowback slide rewards a firm grip for reliable cycling.

A Pistol With Personality

The sparkle slide makes the C9 easy to spot in a safe or on a range bench, and it is a popular pick when a 9mm is bought as a birthday gift for an adult who has asked for one. Remember that any handgun transfer must go through a licensed dealer, and straw purchases on behalf of someone else are illegal. Clean the slide with a soft cloth and avoid abrasive pads that can dull the sparkle.

Recoil, Size and Ammunition

The 3.5-inch barrel and 29-ounce weight make the C9 soft-shooting for a compact 9mm, though the blowback slide gives recoil a sharper feel than the weight suggests. The single-stack 8-round magazine keeps capacity modest, and Hi-Point also offers a 10-round magazine. At 6.75 inches long with a thick slide, the C9 is easier to keep at home than to carry all day, and holster fit is specific to this frame.

Honest Caveats

Hi-Point pistols trade refinement for price. They are heavy and thick for their size, the trigger is long and gritty, and holster and magazine choices are far narrower than for mainstream polymer pistols. Takedown takes a punch rather than a lever. Resale value is modest, and a weak grip can cause stoppages, so practice with a firm hold. A decorative slide shows scratches readily, so a padded case or lined holster helps.

State Laws and Ownership

Pennsylvania buyers 21 and older can purchase this pistol through a dealer, and carrying it concealed or in a vehicle generally requires a License to Carry Firearms. Other states are stricter: some keep a roster of approved handguns, some cap magazine capacity, some restrict threaded barrels on pistols, and many require a purchase permit. Check your state and local rules before ordering.
