Atomic Ammunition is an American ammunition maker best known for its subsonic loads, which it developed with independent ballistic test laboratories. Its rifle range uses premium bullets from established makers such as Nosler and Sierra, and this load is marketed under its law enforcement line.

The Nosler Varmageddon is a flat base, polymer tipped bullet designed to expand and fragment quickly. The tip initiates expansion, and the thin jacket opens rapidly at the velocities a 300 Blackout produces. That makes Atomic 300 Blackout 110gr Varmageddon well suited to varmints, predators and hogs at moderate range.

Field Notes

Never chamber 300 AAC Blackout ammo in a rifle marked 223 Remington or 5.56 NATO. The cartridges look similar in a magazine and the 300 BLK round can chamber in a 5.56 rifle, which can cause a catastrophic failure. Mark your 300 BLK magazines and keep calibers separated.

The Varmageddon is a varmint bullet and fragments rapidly. It works well on coyotes and hogs with good shot placement, but it is not designed for deep penetration on large game. Many states set minimum cartridge or energy rules for deer, so check your regulations before hunting.

Zero with the load you intend to use. Supersonic and subsonic 300 BLK loads print at very different points of impact. Shoot a few groups with Atomic 300 Blackout 110gr Varmageddon before you hunt.

Because the bullet is a flat base design, it is efficient at short and medium range rather than long range.
