Description
The TruGlo Nexus Red Dot 3 MOA is a compact open red dot that works on a pistol, a shotgun or a rifle. It uses the RMR footprint for optic ready pistols, and TruGlo includes a Picatinny mount so you can also run it on a rail. That makes it a flexible choice if you want one sight that can move between guns.

TruGlo Nexus Red Dot 3 MOA Overview
TruGlo catalogs this sight as TG-TG8322B. It has a 22mm multi-coated lens, a 3 MOA red dot and a matte black finish. Windage and elevation adjust in 1 MOA clicks. The sight is rated IPX7 for water resistance, and TruGlo includes a protective cover to keep the lens clean when the gun is stored or carried in a case.
Brightness and Motion Wake
Ten brightness levels are set with digital push buttons, so you can match the dot to bright sun or a dim room. A motion sensing wake feature turns the dot back on as soon as the gun moves, which saves battery while the gun sits and keeps the sight ready when you pick it up.

Two Ways to Mount
On a pistol, the Nexus mounts directly to slides cut for the RMR pattern or to an RMR plate for your gun. On a shotgun, rimfire rifle or carbine, the included Picatinny mount clamps to the rail. Turkey hunters in particular like a compact dot on a shotgun for fast, accurate shots at a gobbler.
A 3 MOA Dot
A 3 MOA dot covers about three quarters of an inch at 25 yards and about three inches at 100 yards. It is bright enough to pick up quickly and small enough for careful shots, which suits both pistol and shotgun use.

Why a Red Dot on a Pistol
With iron sights you have to line up a rear notch, a front post and the target, and your eye can only focus on one of them. With a red dot you keep both eyes open, focus on the target and put the dot on it. Most shooters see faster first shots and better follow up shots once they learn to present the gun so the dot lands in the window.
Spec Note
TruGlo has not published battery type, battery life or weight for the Nexus on its product page, so we have left those out of the specs below. Some retailer listings describe the mount as Weaver style; TruGlo describes it as a Picatinny mount.
Zeroing Tips
Most pistol shooters zero a red dot at 15 to 25 yards. Start close to get on paper, then move back and adjust. Fire groups of three to five shots before each change, and confirm zero with the ammunition you plan to carry.
Battery Care
Replace the battery once a year on a defensive gun, even if the dot still looks fine, and keep a spare in your range bag. Wipe the lens with a soft cloth or lens pen, not a shirt tail, to keep the coatings clean. If the dot seems dim or flickers, check the battery and contacts first.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
