Description
The Strike Industries Hexion Seeker Red Dot is a compact open red dot for pistols that are cut for the RMR footprint. It gives you more than a plain dot: you can choose a 3 MOA dot, a 40 MOA circle, a 50 MOA cross, or all three together, then switch between them with the side buttons.
Strike Industries Hexion Seeker Red Dot Overview
Strike Industries sells this sight as the Hexion Tech Seeker, part SO-SEEKER. It measures about 1.9 in long, 1.3 in wide and 1.0 in high, so it sits low on a slide. The housing is black anodized aluminum built to handle recoil and hard use. One CR2025 battery loads from the top, so you can change it without removing the optic or losing zero.
Four Reticle Modes
Hold either button for about two seconds to cycle through the dot, the circle, the cross and the combined pattern. The dot alone is best for precise shots and long battery life. The circle and cross help your eye find the aiming point fast, which many shooters like for close range defensive work.
Brightness and Battery
Eight brightness settings let you match the reticle to the light. Strike Industries rates battery life at up to 30,000 hours with the dot alone and roughly 5,000 to 6,000 hours with two or more reticles lit. The sight shuts off after about two hours without movement and wakes when the gun moves, and pressing both buttons together turns it fully off.
Mounting
The Seeker uses the RMR footprint, one of the most common pistol optic cuts. Mount it directly to an RMR cut slide or to an RMR pattern plate for your pistol. Strike Industries also offers optional shrouds in three sizes, sold separately, to protect the optic and change its look.

Why a Red Dot on a Pistol
With iron sights you have to line up a rear notch, a front post and the target, and your eye can only focus on one of them. With a red dot you keep both eyes open, focus on the target and put the dot on it. Most shooters see faster first shots and better follow up shots once they learn to present the gun so the dot lands in the window.
Zeroing Tips
Most pistol shooters zero a red dot at 15 to 25 yards. Start close to get on paper, then move back and adjust. Fire groups of three to five shots before each change, and confirm zero with the ammunition you plan to carry.
Battery Care
Replace the battery once a year on a defensive gun, even if the dot still looks fine, and keep a spare in your range bag. Wipe the lens with a soft cloth or lens pen, not a shirt tail, to keep the coatings clean. If the dot seems dim or flickers, check the battery and contacts first.
