Description
The Chiappa Rhino 60DS 357 Mag Gold is a 6 inch, six shot revolver that pairs Chiappa’s low bore axis design with a striking gold PVD finished aluminum frame and medium walnut grips. It shoots .357 Magnum and .38 Special with noticeably less muzzle rise than a conventional revolver.
Chiappa Rhino 60DS 357 Mag Gold Overview
The Rhino fires from the bottom chamber of its hexagonal cylinder, which lines the barrel up with your hand instead of sitting high above it. Recoil pushes more directly back into your palm, so the muzzle stays flatter and follow up shots come faster. The Chiappa Rhino 60DS 357 Mag Gold is double action and single action with a concealed hammer and cocking lever. The frame is aluminum with a gold PVD coating, the barrel is steel, and the revolver weighs about 32 ounces. A fixed fiber optic front sight pairs with a fully adjustable rear sight.
6 Inch Sight Radius
The longest barrel in this Rhino line gives the greatest sight radius, which helps precise shooting at the range and makes the revolver a strong choice for target work, silhouette fun or hunting small game where legal. The extra length also adds velocity with .357 Magnum loads.
Moon Clips and Loading
Three moon clips and a shell removing tool are included. With moon clips you can drop six rounds into the cylinder at once and eject them together, making reloads much faster than single loading.
Gold PVD Finish
PVD (physical vapor deposition) creates a thin, hard coating that resists wear better than paint. The gold color with walnut grips makes this a real conversation piece at the range, and it stands out in a collection. Clean it with gentle, non abrasive products to keep the finish looking its best.
Ammunition Choices
Practice inexpensively with .38 Special and step up to .357 Magnum for full power. Because of the low bore design, many shooters find magnum loads more comfortable in the Rhino than in traditional revolvers of similar weight.
Things to Consider
The 6 inch barrel and gold finish make this a range and collection piece more than a carry gun. Holsters must be Rhino specific, and the cocking lever system takes practice. Chiappa lists it as not for sale to California.
