Many AR-15 owners keep a few different loads on hand. The DoubleTap 223 Rem 62gr FMJ Match is a high-volume practice option in the lineup, alongside the 69 and 77 grain HPBT loads for precision and the solid copper load for hunting.

Buying ammunition by the box from the same production lot keeps velocity and point of impact consistent from one range trip to the next. Keep a record of the load you carry, check your ammunition for dents or loose bullets from time to time, and rotate your carry rounds so the ones in your firearm stay fresh. These simple habits help you get the full performance DoubleTap builds into every cartridge.

Before you trust any new load, fire enough rounds through your firearm to confirm it feeds, fires and ejects reliably and that the point of impact matches your sights. Full-power loads produce more recoil and muzzle blast than typical range ammo, so practice with the DoubleTap 223 Rem 62gr FMJ Match until you are comfortable with it, and store the rest in a cool, dry place in the original box.

Why Choose DoubleTap 223 Rem Ammo

The 62 grain bullet weight suits the 1:7 and 1:9 twist barrels found on most modern AR-15s, and it carries its velocity well at longer range. DoubleTap rates this load at about 3100 fps from a 20 inch barrel and 2950 fps from a 16 inch carbine, the barrel length most AR owners run.

When you compare 223 rem target ammo, a 50 round box from one lot keeps your practice consistent. This 223 rem 62 grain fmj load is labeled 223 Remington, so it can be fired in rifles marked 223 or 5.56 NATO, and it makes a practical companion to heavier match or hunting ammunition.

DoubleTap Ammunition is an American company known for loading popular calibers to their full potential, especially the 10mm Auto and other magnum handgun rounds. Doubletap 223 rem ammo is loaded with quality components and brass cases, and many shooters choose it when they want the performance a caliber was designed for rather than a reduced-power range load.

AR-15 owners, competitors and anyone who trains often with a 223 rifle will find this a dependable practice load. Always confirm your firearm is chambered for 223 Remington, wear eye and ear protection, and follow all federal, state and local laws.
