CCI loads Blazer ammunition in Lewiston, Idaho. The Blazer line was created to deliver dependable, low-cost practice ammunition, and the aluminum cased version was one of the first factory loads to use aluminum cases in large volume.
Aluminum cases cost less to make than brass and weigh less, which helps keep the price per round down and makes a few hundred rounds noticeably lighter in a range bag. CCI pairs the case with its own reliable primers and clean-burning powder.
The trade-off is that aluminum cases are not reloadable. They are Berdan primed and the case material does not stand up to resizing, so this is ammunition you shoot and recycle rather than collect for handloading.

Field Notes
This load runs reliably in the vast majority of modern 9mm pistols and pistol caliber carbines. As with any ammunition, run a box through a new gun before relying on it, and keep your chamber clean.
Some ranges, particularly those that sweep and sell brass, ask shooters not to mix aluminum cases with brass. A few do not allow aluminum at all. Check the rules before you go.
Recycle your spent aluminum cases rather than leaving them on the range floor. They are light and easy to collect, and many ranges have separate bins for aluminum and brass. Some shooters also find aluminum cases slightly easier to spot and sort when they share a bay with others.
Full metal jacket bullets are for practice, not self defence. Use a quality hollow point for carry and practise regularly with it as well, so you are familiar with its recoil and point of impact.
