Action and Controls
The 1911, MC1911 runs on a Semi Automatic action system with a Skeletonized trigger. It holds 8 rounds using detachable box magazine. The safety is ambidextrous thumb safety. Practice your trigger press and reloads until they feel natural.
Barrel and Sights
The 6 inch barrel. Sights are Dovetail Fixed with a Dovetail Fixed rear. Check that your front sight is crisp in focus as you press the trigger, which is the key to accuracy with any handgun.
Frame, Slide and Finish
The frame is steel. The finish is Brown with Dark Earth. Grips are Black Plastic.
Size and Carry
Overall length is 9.75″. It weighs about 3.2 lbs. That size gives a full grip and a longer sight radius for steady shooting at the range and at home.
Ammo and Practice
Feed this pistol quality factory ammo from a known brand. Shoot a few hundred rounds of practice ammo and at least a box of your chosen defensive load to confirm it runs reliably before you trust it for protection.
The 10mm Auto
The 10mm Auto is a powerful semi-auto round that works for defense and for hunting or backcountry carry, with stout recoil.
Home Defense and Range Use
This pistol is a solid choice for home defense, range practice and many kinds of competition. For home defense, keep it in a quick access safe and pick a quality defensive load.
Holsters and Accessories
Plan on a quality holster made for this exact model, a magazine pouch, a lock or quick access safe, and eye and ear protection. A weapon light and a red dot are popular upgrades if the gun is set up for them.
Buying Tips
Pick up extra magazines, a quality holster and plenty of practice ammo. If you are new to handguns, a basic safety class is a smart first step.
Care and Value
Clean the bore and action after each range trip or hunt, keep moving parts lightly oiled and wipe the finish after handling. A well kept Girsan holds its value.
