Winchester Wildcat Sporter SR 22LR Overview
The Wildcat 22 is a semi-auto rimfire with a skeletonized buttstock, a receiver that opens for easy cleaning and a rotary magazine that works with Ruger 10/22 magazines. This version is the Wildcat Sporter SR.
Barrel and Chokes
The 16 1/2 inch barrel has a matte blued finish.
Action
The Active Valve gas system meters gas so light loads cycle and heavy loads are softened, and the recoil pad helps keep felt recoil manageable. The magazine holds 10.
Stock and Fit
The stock has a satin oil finish and cut grip panels. Winchester lists a 14 inch length of pull and a Plastic Butt Plate recoil pad.
Key Features
Winchester builds the Wildcat Sporter SR for years of hard use.
The 22 LR
The 22 LR is a classic gauge with plenty of loads for hunting and targets.
Upland Birds and Waterfowl
This shotgun is at home on upland birds, doves and waterfowl, and it is fine for a round of clays. Check federal and state rules on shot type and magazine capacity for waterfowl.
Buying Tips
Pattern your gun with each choke and load before the season, and pick up extra choke tubes if you hunt different birds.
Care and Value
Wipe the gun down after wet hunts and clean the barrel and chokes regularly. Winchester shotguns hold their value well.
State Laws
Shotguns are legal in every state, though hunting rules and magazine limits vary. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
