Description
The TriStar Raptor II Compact 20 Ga Synthetic is a shotgun chambered in 20 Gauge with a 24-inch barrel. TriStar lists it as item number 20226.
TriStar Raptor II Compact 20 Ga Synthetic Overview
The TriStar Raptor II Compact is a gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun, so it softens recoil and cycles reliably with a wide range of loads. TriStar is known for delivering dependable, well-featured shotguns at a very approachable price.
Design and Features
Highlights of the Raptor II Compact line include redesigned Stock and Forearm, oversized Operating Handle & Bolt Release, fiber Optic Front Sight, 5 Round Magazine – Shot Plug Included, chrome Lined Chamber & Barrel, and beretta®/Benelli® Mobil Style Choke Tubes. This configuration has a cmpct synthetic finish, a 24-inch barrel, and weighs about 6.7 pounds. Length of pull is 13″. It ships with CT-3 choke tubes.
Handling in the Field
It mounts quickly and swings smoothly, so it is easy to stay on flushing birds, decoying ducks, or crossing clays.
Action and Trigger
The gas system cycles smoothly, and the trigger is crisp for a field gun.
Sights and Optics
Mount the optic of your choice with quality rings or a mount, and zero it with the load you plan to use.
The 20 Gauge Cartridge
The 20 gauge offers lighter recoil and a lighter gun than a 12 gauge while still handling upland birds, doves, and clays well, and buckshot and slug loads make it a capable defensive and deer gauge too.
Setup and Accessories
Set your shotgun up for its job: hunters will want a sling and a few choke tubes, clay shooters may add a recoil pad, and a home-defense setup benefits from a weapon light. Pattern every load and choke combination you plan to use.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the shotgun and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the action and choke threads. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
Your First Range Trip
Start with light target loads to learn how the gun mounts and swings. Shoot a few rounds of each load you plan to hunt with, and pattern the gun on paper at 25 and 40 yards. Wear eye and ear protection, keep the muzzle in a safe direction, and clean the barrel and action when you get home.
