Trijicon VCOG 1-6×24 308 LPVO Overview
Trijicon part VC16-C-1600004 uses a forged aluminum housing rated submersible to 66 feet. Eye relief is a generous 4 inches, and the field of view runs from 95 feet at 1x to 15.9 feet at 6x at 100 yards. Turrets move 1/2 MOA per click with 90 MOA of elevation and windage travel and 35 MOA per revolution. Illumination runs on a single AA battery, rated for about 700 hours at setting 4 of 6.
First Focal Plane Advantage
In a first focal plane scope, the reticle grows and shrinks with magnification, so the bullet drop marks are correct at every power. That matters with a ranging reticle like this one: you can dial to any magnification and still use the holdovers. At 1x the segmented circle acts like a red dot for fast close shooting.

Calibrated for 308 175 Grain
The BDC holds are designed for .308 Winchester with 175 grain match bullets, the classic load for semi-automatic precision and designated marksman rifles. Other bullet weights will drift from the marks at distance, so confirm your holds on paper before relying on them in the field.
Battery and Illumination
A common AA battery powers the LED, which is easy to find anywhere. Six brightness settings cover daylight to dusk. Turn the illumination off when not in use, because 700 hours of continuous use is far shorter than modern red dots with auto-shutoff.

Mount and Setup
The included TA51 thumbscrew flattop mount clamps to Picatinny rails. With 4 inches of eye relief, mounting is forgiving, but take time to set eye position at 6x where the eye box is tightest. Torque the thumbscrew firmly and recheck after the first range session.
Who It Is Not For
The VCOG is heavier than many lightweight LPVOs and is overbuilt for a casual range rifle. Photos show Trijicon’s standard black VCOG body; this model differs in reticle calibration. Owners of 5.56 rifles should choose a VCOG with a 5.56 reticle instead.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
Your First Range Trip
Mount your optic, bore sight it, then fire your first groups at 25 yards before moving to 100. Let the barrel cool between strings, and record your zero and the load you used. Wear eye and ear protection, keep the muzzle in a safe direction, and clean the bore when you get home.
