The Trijicon MRO 3x Magnifier is Trijicon’s compact 3x magnifier designed to pair with the MRO family of red dots. It sits behind the optic for target identification and longer shots, then swings aside on its quick-detach flip mount when you want a fast 1x view.
Trijicon MRO 3x Magnifier Overview
Trijicon part MAG-C-2600001 uses a 25mm objective and offers 2.6 inches of eye relief with a 7.2 degree field of view, about 37.8 feet at 100 yards. Retail listings put it at 2.9 by 1.7 by 1.5 inches and 6.5 ounces, notably lighter than many 3x magnifiers. The aluminum housing is rated submersible to 33 feet, and a diopter lets you sharpen the image for your eyes. Internal adjustments let you center the magnified image over your dot.
Made for the MRO
The magnifier is sized and height-matched for Trijicon’s MRO, MRO HD and MRO SD sights, and the MRO SD was specifically re-engineered to look sharper behind it. It will also work behind other red dots at a matching height, but the cleanest pairing is with an MRO. Magnification does not change your zero.
Flip-to-Side QD Mount
The included quick-detach mount swings the magnifier out of the sight line or removes it from the rail entirely. That lets you keep a fast 1x setup for close shots and bring in 3x for distance. The mount is adjustable for height so it can line up with your dot; check the flip direction against your charging handle before final installation.
Why 3x
Three power is the classic choice for AR-15 magnifiers. It is enough to confirm what is at 200 to 300 yards and tighten your hold, without the narrow field of view and fussy eye position of 5x or 6x units. At only 6.5 ounces, it adds far less weight than most competitors.
Durability
Trijicon builds its magnifier like its combat optics, with a sealed aluminum housing. Keep the lenses capped in rain, since water on the eyepiece blurs a magnified image. Inspect the mount screws periodically and use thread locker on any fasteners that do not have it.
Considerations
A magnifier enlarges any imperfection in your red dot, including astigmatism blur, so a small crisp dot looks best behind it. Large circle reticles cover a lot of target at 3x. If you mainly shoot inside 100 yards, you may not need a magnifier at all.

Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
Your First Range Trip
Mount your optic, bore sight it, then fire your first groups at 25 yards before moving to 100. Let the barrel cool between strings, and record your zero and the load you used. Wear eye and ear protection, keep the muzzle in a safe direction, and clean the bore when you get home.
