The Trijicon HD XR Sights Glock MOS Orange set is the extended range version of Trijicon’s HD night sights, with an orange ringed green tritium front blade and a blacked out rear. It fits the 17MOS, 19MOS, 34MOS and 45MOS as well as the whole standard frame Glock lineup. Part GL614-C-601092.

What The XR Actually Changes

One number separates the HD XR from the standard HD, and it is the width of the front blade. The HD uses one hundred and forty four thousandths of an inch. The XR narrows that to one hundred and twenty two thousandths, inside the same one hundred and sixty nine thousandth U notch.

That leaves forty seven thousandths of daylight around the front sight instead of twenty five. Nearly twice as much light, and a front blade that covers noticeably less of the target. Why A Narrow Blade Matters At Distance

A front sight covers a fixed angle, so the further out the target sits the more of it the blade hides. At fifty yards a wide front sight can obscure a whole steel plate, which forces you to guess where the centre is rather than see it.

Narrow the blade and the target reappears around it. More daylight either side also makes centring the front sight in the notch easier to judge, because the eye is very good at comparing two gaps. That is the whole argument for the Trijicon HD XR Sights Glock MOS Orange set over the standard HD.

What You Give Up

A little speed at close range. A wide front blade is a bigger thing for the eye to grab on a fast draw, and shooters who do most of their work inside ten yards will find the standard HD marginally quicker to pick up.

MOS And Non MOS In One Part Number
