Traditions Buckstalker XT 50 Cal 24 Overview
The Buckstalker XT is a Traditions muzzleloader built for muzzleloader seasons and traditional hunting.
Action and Controls
The Buckstalker XT is a muzzleloader with a break open action. The trigger is Elite XT. The safety is hammer/trigger block. This is a ambidextrous model.
Barrel
The 24 inch barrel has a steel profile and a 1:28″ twist. Sights are Drilled & Tapped.
Stock and Fit
The stock is synthetic with a next wyld camo finish. Check the length of pull against your own fit, especially if you shoot in heavy clothing. Metal surfaces wear Stainless Cerakote.
Size and Handling
A steady rest, a good sling and practice from field positions will help you shoot it well.
Ammo and Practice
Work up a load with the powder and bullet the maker recommends, and clean the bore after every shooting session, since black powder residue causes rust.
The 50 caliber
The 50 caliber is a proven chambering. Match your ammunition to your use, and practice with the same loads you plan to rely on.
Muzzleloader Season
Muzzleloaders let you hunt special muzzleloader seasons. Check your state rules on sights, ignition and powder before you hunt.
Optics and Accessories
Plan on quality scope rings or mounts, a sling, a hard or soft case and a cleaning kit. A bipod or shooting sticks help a lot for steady shots in the field or at the bench.
Buying Tips
Budget for quality optics or sights, a sling and ammo, and confirm your zero at the distances you expect to shoot.
Care and Value
Clean the bore and action after each range trip or hunt, keep moving parts lightly oiled and wipe the finish after handling. A well kept Traditions holds its value.
State Laws
Some states limit semi-auto features, magazine capacity and hunting calibers. Check your local law before you buy. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
