Description
The Tisas Regent BR9 Sport Nickel 9mm updates the classic Hi-Power pattern with G10 grip panels and a bright nickel finish. It keeps the all-steel construction while adding a more aggressive, modern grip texture.
Tisas Regent BR9 Sport Nickel 9mm Overview
Tisas, a Turkish handgun maker with a long track record, offers the Regent BR9 in standard and Sport trims. The Sport has a steel frame and slide, a 4.67-inch barrel with a 1-in-10 twist, a 7.87-inch overall length and a weight near 31.7 ounces. It holds 15+1 rounds and uses a thumb safety, a dovetailed white-dot front sight and a serrated rear. The finish is nickel with textured G10 panels.
Sport Upgrades
The G10 panels are tougher and grippier than wood, which helps when hands are sweaty or gloved. The texture is aggressive enough to lock the gun in place but can be abrasive against skin during carry.
Nickel Finish
Nickel looks striking and resists corrosion, but it can scratch and show holster wear. Wipe it down after shooting to keep it bright.
Shooting the Regent
The all-steel construction keeps recoil soft, and the Hi-Power grip angle points naturally. Carry is cocked and locked, so train with the thumb safety on every draw. The trigger is single action, typical of the pattern rather than a tuned match trigger.
Magazines
Our store listing and Zanders describe two 15-round magazines, while Lipsey’s lists one. Plan on a spare either way; Hi-Power pattern magazines generally fit, but test them before relying on them.
Who It Suits
This is a great pistol for a relaxed range day, steel matches, or anyone who loves classic designs with modern grips. Resale value is lower than an original Browning, but so is the price.
Break-In and Care
Lubricate the slide rails generously for the first few hundred rounds, then field strip and clean after each session. Use a soft cloth on the nickel finish and avoid abrasive cleaners that can dull or scratch it. The G10 panels need nothing more than a wipe down.
Ammunition
The Regent is designed for standard-pressure 9mm Luger. Use quality brass-cased ammunition for practice and test your defensive hollow point carefully before relying on it. Avoid overpressure +P+ loads.
Choosing Between Regent Models
The standard Regent BR9 uses wood panels, while the Sport trims switch to G10 for a firmer hold. The nickel Sport combines the brightest finish in the lineup with the most modern grips. Choose it if you want a showpiece that is equally comfortable on the firing line.
State Laws and Ownership
A 15-round magazine is over the limit in California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Illinois, Washington and other states with 10-round caps, and some states require roster approval for new handgun models. Check your state and local laws before ordering.
