The Smoke Wagon is a single action revolver built for cowboy action shooting, with a low-profile hammer, wide rear sight notch and often Taylor’s tuning for a light, smooth action. Revolvers remain popular because they are simple to operate and very forgiving.
There is no slide to rack and no magazine to seat, and a misfire is cleared by simply pulling the trigger again. The trade-off is capacity and reload speed, so a few speedloaders or moon clips are worth adding. Practice the double action trigger pull regularly, because a smooth, steady press is the key to accuracy with any wheelgun.
Design and Features
The single action design uses a loading gate and ejector rod, a case-hardened or color-finished frame on many versions, and walnut or checkered grips.
