Tanfoglio Limited Custom Polymer 9mm Overview

The Tanfoglio Limited series grew out of IPSC Standard and USPSA Limited competition, where capacity and a light single-action trigger matter. This model uses a polymer frame instead of the steel frame of the Limited Master, which lowers cost and weight. It keeps the large-frame magazine and a thumb safety for cocked-and-locked carry on the range. Single Action Only

Every shot is single action, so the trigger pull is short and light compared with a DA/SA Tanfoglio. That helps accuracy and speed, but the pistol must be carried with the hammer cocked and the safety on. Treat it as a range and match gun, and keep a disciplined safety routine.

Capacity for Matches

Nineteen rounds in a flush magazine reduce reloads on long USPSA or IPSC stages. Many shooters add extended base pads for more. Check your division capacity and magazine length limits, because rules vary between Limited, Production and other classes.

Polymer Frame Trade-Offs

A polymer frame is lighter and absorbs less recoil than steel, so the gun moves a little more in recoil than a Limited Master. In exchange it is easier to carry around a match and less expensive. The 4.76 inch barrel gives a long sight radius for precise shots.

Sights and Optics

This model ships with iron sights and no optic cut. Shooters moving to optics divisions will need a different slide or a frame-mounted mount, which is not a casual add-on. If a red dot is your plan, a dedicated optics-ready Tanfoglio is the better start.

Tanfoglio large-frame magazines and parts are available through IFG in the United States, but they are not everywhere. Buy spare magazines early. Holster options are mostly competition rigs made for Tanfoglio and Witness frames.

State Laws and Ownership

Pennsylvania has no magazine capacity limit and no handgun roster, but the sale still runs through a licensed dealer with a background check. The 19-round magazines are illegal in states with 10 or 15-round limits. Several states, including California, Massachusetts and Maryland, keep handgun rosters, and imported Tanfoglio models are rarely on them. Check your state and local rules, and confirm with your receiving FFL that it can transfer this pistol, before you order.
