Tanfoglio Force Compact F 10mm – Rugged 3.7″ Compact 10mm Pistol, 11+1

Description

The Tanfoglio Force Compact F 10mm packs the full-power 10mm Auto into a compact polymer-frame double-stack pistol with Tanfoglio’s CZ 75-style slide-in-frame design.

Tanfoglio Force Compact F 10mm Overview

Italian Firearms Group lists the Force Compact F with a 3.62-inch barrel, a polymer frame and steel slide, a double/single-action trigger, a frame-mounted safety, fixed steel sights and an 11-round capacity in 10mm, at about 1.7 pounds. The store title rounds the barrel to 3.7 inches, and one distributor lists adjustable sights; the importer specifies fixed steel sights, which is what we expect in the box. Factory photos show the same frame used for the 9mm model.

A Tanfoglio Pedigree

Tanfoglio is a family firm in Gardone Val Trompia, Italy, best known for its CZ 75-pattern pistols, which have won a long list of IPSC and USPSA titles. Italian Firearms Group imports the current line to the United States. The design uses a steel slide that rides inside the frame rails, which gives a low bore axis and a very consistent slide-to-frame fit.

DA/SA Trigger and Safety

The first shot is a longer double-action pull from the hammer down, and following shots break in lighter single action as the slide recocks the hammer. The frame-mounted safety allows cocked-and-locked carry, an option many CZ-pattern shooters prefer. Learn the transition from the heavy first pull to the lighter follow-ups with dry practice before trusting the pistol for defense.

10mm in a Compact Frame

A 10mm in a short polymer pistol is a lot of cartridge for its size. Full-power loads produce sharp recoil and muzzle flash from a 3.62-inch barrel, and velocity drops compared with a full-size 10mm, so lighter 155- to 180-grain loads often shoot more controllably. Many owners pick this kind of pistol as a backcountry sidearm where a bigger gun is too heavy to carry all day.

Ammunition, Magazines and Holsters

10mm Auto costs more than 9mm or 40 S&W and is less consistently stocked, so buy practice ammunition in bulk when you find it. Spare magazines and holsters are specific to the Force Compact frame and are less common than for mainstream polymer pistols. Confirm holster fit by model, not just by brand, and carry at least one spare magazine so you can swap out a damaged one during a long day afield.

Honest Caveats

Recoil is snappy for new shooters, and a polymer compact 10mm will wear springs faster under steady full-power loads, so plan on periodic recoil spring replacement. Resale value and aftermarket support trail Glock and Smith & Wesson. Capacity limits in some states mean the 11-round magazine may not be legal where you live.

State Laws and Ownership

Pennsylvania buyers 21 and older can purchase this pistol through a dealer, and carrying it concealed or loaded in a vehicle generally requires a License to Carry Firearms. Other states are stricter: some keep a roster of approved handguns that imported competition pistols rarely appear on, many cap magazine capacity at 10 or 15 rounds, and some require a purchase permit or waiting period. Check your state and local rules before ordering.
