Talley X-Bolt Mount 1 Inch High Overview
Most scope mounts use a separate base and a pair of rings, which means two joints that can loosen or misalign. Talley machines the ring and base as a single piece, so each ring attaches directly to the receiver with nothing in between. That unitized design removes the ring-to-base interface entirely, which is one less place for a scope to shift. It also makes installation quicker, since there is no base to install and align before the rings go on.
Talley extrudes the mounts from 7000 series aluminum alloy and then CNC machines them to final shape. The result is a mount that Talley says is stronger than many steel ring and base setups while weighing less.
Made for the Browning X-Bolt
The X-Bolt uses its own receiver screw pattern, so generic two-piece bases do not fit. This mount bolts straight to the factory holes on short and long action X-Bolt rifles. The Burnt Bronze finish is designed to match the Hells Canyon Speed and similar Browning models, giving the rifle and mount a factory-matched look.
Why High Height
High rings give room for larger objective lenses and bulky scope turrets, and they leave more space between the scope and the X-Bolt bolt handle. Choose high if your one-inch scope has a 44 to 50mm objective or if a medium mount would put the objective bell close to the barrel. If your scope clears with medium rings, the lower option keeps the sight line closer to the bore.
Installation Tips
Degrease the receiver holes and screws, then install each ring with the supplied screws, using a drop of medium thread locker on the receiver screws only. Set the scope, level the reticle, and tighten the caps evenly in a crisscross pattern.
Use a torque driver, and follow the scope maker limit for cap screws. Because each ring is separate, take care to keep them aligned; lapping is rarely needed with Talley mounts but can be done if the tube sits unevenly.
Honest Limitations
This mount fits the Browning X-Bolt only and one-inch scope tubes only. It has no built-in elevation cant, so long-range shooters who need extra elevation travel should look at a 20 MOA X-Bolt base instead. Removing the scope means removing the caps, so plan on confirming zero afterward.
