Description
The Stevens 320 12 Ga Shadow Grass is a shotgun chambered in 12 Gauge with a 26-inch barrel.
Stevens 320 12 Ga Shadow Grass Overview
Stevens is the value line of Savage Arms, and the 320 is a dependable pump shotgun with a rotary bolt and dual action bars. Fit matters more with a shotgun than with almost any other firearm, because you point it rather than aim it. Check that the stock length lets you mount the gun smoothly with your eye centered over the rib, and pattern the gun with the chokes and loads you plan to use. A few trips to the trap or sporting clays field before the season will sharpen your swing and help you learn how the gun handles.
Design and Features
It has a chrome-moly barrel, a 3-inch chamber, a top tang safety and a synthetic or camo stock. Shells and chokes make a big difference in performance. Match the load to the game, from light target loads for clays to heavier shot for waterfowl and turkey, and pattern the gun at the distances you expect to shoot. Keeping the action and choke threads clean and lightly oiled will keep the gun running reliably for many seasons.
Handling in the Field
It is reliable and affordable.
Action and Trigger
The trigger has a firm break.
Sights and Optics
Mount the optic of your choice with quality rings or a mount, and zero it with the load you plan to use.
The 12 Gauge Cartridge
The 12 Gauge offers a good balance of power, accuracy, and recoil for its intended use.
Setup and Accessories
Set your shotgun up for its job: hunters will want a sling and a few choke tubes, clay shooters may add a recoil pad, and a home-defense setup benefits from a weapon light. Pattern every load and choke combination you plan to use.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner’s manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the shotgun and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner’s manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the action and choke threads. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
Product Notes
Specifications are based on the distributor listing for this model and X’s published information for this line. Contact us if you need to confirm a detail before ordering.
Choke Selection
Tighter chokes such as modified and full extend effective range for waterfowl and turkey, while improved cylinder and skeet chokes open patterns for close birds and clay targets. Always use chokes rated for the shot type you are shooting, especially steel.
