The Stevens 301 Turkey is a single-shot, break-action shotgun designed around modern tungsten super shot (TSS) turkey loads. The 26-inch barrel is optimized for Federal Premium HEAVYWEIGHT TSS loads, and the gun comes ready for turkey hunting with an extra-full choke, sling swivel studs, and a removable rail for an optic or red dot.
Action and Barrel
The single 26-inch barrel is built to throw dense patterns with TSS loads and comes with an extra-full choke tube in the Win Choke (1/2-32UN) pattern. A manual hammer-blocking safety keeps the gun safe until you are ready to shoot, and the break-open action makes loading and unloading quick and easy to verify. Care and Cleaning
Cleaning is simple. After each outing, run a bore brush and patches through the barrel and wipe down the choke tube threads, wipe the metal with a light coat of gun oil, and check that the action is free of dirt and debris. Remove and clean the choke tubes regularly, and put a little choke tube lube on the threads so they do not seize. The synthetic stock needs nothing more than a wipe with a damp cloth.
