Description

The Springfield Hellcat Pro Gear Pac is the whole thing in one box: the 9mm Hellcat Pro OSP, a Viridian RFX11 green dot already mounted and zeroed-ready on the slide, four 15-round magazines, and a heavy-duty zippered pistol bag to carry it all in. Springfield puts the added value of those extras at up to 375 dollars, and there is no rebate to mail and no redemption code to chase. It is simply what is in the case when you open it.

That matters more than it sounds. The usual path to a red dot carry pistol is to buy the gun, then buy the optic, then buy a mounting plate, then find out the plate is wrong, then buy magazines one at a time. The Springfield Hellcat Pro Gear Pac skips all of it. The optic is the correct footprint because Springfield fitted it, and four magazines is enough to actually run a training class.

Underneath the package is a very good pistol. The Hellcat Pro is the grown-up version of the micro Hellcat: a longer grip that fits a full hand, a longer sight radius, and 15+1 rounds, in a gun that still weighs 21 ounces and measures an inch across the grip.

What is in the Springfield Hellcat Pro Gear Pac

  • Hellcat Pro OSP 9mm pistol, model HCP9379BOSP-15-PAC, black
  • Viridian RFX11 green dot optic, factory installed on the slide
  • Four 15-round magazines
  • Heavy-duty nylon zippered pistol bag with the Springfield Armory crest
  • 15+1 capacity, 3.7 inch barrel, 21 ounces
  • No rebate and no redemption: everything listed ships in the box

What the Viridian RFX11 green dot brings

  • Green rather than red, which most eyes pick up faster in daylight and against a green or brown background
  • Instant-On wakes the emitter when the pistol moves, so there is no button to find under stress
  • Roughly 30,000 hours of runtime, which is measured in years of carry rather than months
  • Factory mounted by Springfield, so the footprint question is already settled and there is no adapter plate stacking the optic up high
  • The Viridian RFX11 green dot sits low enough on the Hellcat Pro slide that the irons stay usable underneath it

An optics ready 9mm carry pistol that is actually sized for carry

The Hellcat Pro solves the problem that makes most red dot carry guns awkward. An optics ready 9mm carry pistol usually forces a choice: a micro gun that hides well but gives you two fingers on the grip and a short sight radius, or a compact duty gun that shoots beautifully and prints through a shirt. At 6.6 inches long, 4.8 inches tall and one inch across the grip, the Hellcat Pro lands between them and gets a full firing grip for most hands.

The Adaptive Grip Texture is the other reason it carries well. It feels moderate in the hand at rest and sharpens up as you tighten your grip, which means it holds under recoil without chewing up a cover garment or your side.

The 3.7 inch hammer forged barrel

The 3.7 inch hammer forged barrel is a genuine step up from the 3 inch tube on the micro Hellcat. Hammer forging work-hardens the bore and gives more consistent groove dimensions than cheaper methods, and the extra seven tenths of an inch is worth roughly 50 to 70 feet per second with most defensive 9mm loads. It also stretches the sight radius, which shows up as tighter groups with the irons at 15 and 25 yards.

Because it is still a short barrel, load choice matters. We would point you at the Speer Gold Dot Carry Gun 9mm 135 grain, which is built specifically to expand reliably out of short barrels rather than being a duty load borrowed from a 4.5 inch gun. For range work with four magazines to fill, Blazer Brass 9mm 115 grain in 200-round boxes is the sensible way to buy it.

Hellcat Pro 15 round magazines and what else fits

The four Hellcat Pro 15 round magazines in this package are the flush-fit standard for the pistol, and they are the ones to keep in a carry rotation because nothing hangs below the grip. Spares are available on their own as the Springfield Hellcat Pro 15-round magazine.

If you want more on board, the Hellcat Pro 17-round magazine adds two rounds and a short grip extension. Be aware that we currently stock that one only with an FDE floorplate, which will not match a black pistol. Worth knowing before it arrives.

One fitment warning. Magazines for the standard micro Hellcat do not fit the Hellcat Pro. The Pro has a longer grip frame and uses its own magazine, so the 11, 13 and 15-round Hellcat magazines on our site are for the smaller gun. Check the word Pro on the listing before you order.

How this compares to the other Hellcat Pro packages

There is a second Gear Pac in the range: the Hellcat Pro OSP Gear Pac at 17+1, which is the same idea built around extended magazines. If you do not want the optic or the extras at all, the plain Springfield Hellcat Pro 15 Round is the bare pistol with two magazines. Springfield publishes the full factory specification on the Hellcat Pro OSP Gear Pac page.

A note on the sights. The base Hellcat Pro OSP ships with a tritium and luminescent front sight. This Gear Pac configuration uses a white-dot front with the Tactical Rack U-Dot rear instead. That is a deliberate difference, not an error in our listing, and for most buyers it is moot because the green dot is the primary sight. If you specifically want a glowing front sight for night use, buy the base gun or plan on a sight swap.

Why this firearm earns its place

  • A complete red dot carry setup with nothing left to buy and nothing to mail in
  • Four magazines rather than two, which is the difference between a range trip and a carry rotation
  • The optic is factory fitted, so the footprint and the mounting height are not your problem
  • A full firing grip and 15+1 rounds in a pistol that is still one inch across and 21 ounces
  • Hammer forged 3.7 inch barrel with a Melonite finish, which is the durable end of the market rather than the cheap end

This suits the buyer who has decided on a red dot and does not want to assemble the setup piece by piece, the shooter moving up from a micro nine who wants a full grip, and anyone buying a first carry pistol who would rather spend once. It is also a sensible class gun, because four magazines and a bag is most of what a two-day course asks you to bring.

Every firearm we ship goes to a licensed dealer in your state for the transfer and the background check. Magazine capacity is restricted in some states, so check your local rules before you order, and call us if you want help confirming what is legal where you live.
