Description
The Smith Wesson PC Bodyguard Carry Comp is a pistol chambered in 380 ACP with a 3.1-inch barrel and a 12+1 capacity. This Performance Center model has a ported barrel, night sights, a thumb safety, and a Midnight Bronze Cerakote frame.
Smith Wesson PC Bodyguard Carry Comp Overview
The Performance Center Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp takes Smith & Wesson’s next-generation micro pistol and adds a ported barrel and redesigned slide. The PowerPort directs gas upward to reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise, which matters a lot in a gun this small. It ships with one 10-round and one 12-round magazine, giving you a flush or extended option.
Design and Features
The 3.1-inch ported stainless steel barrel has an Armornite finish. The stainless slide wears Performance Center Gray Armornite, and the polymer frame is finished in Midnight Bronze Cerakote. The aggressive slide design increases gripping surface for confident racking, and a manual thumb safety adds an extra layer of security.
Handling and Carry
The slim textured grip and enhanced ergonomic profile give better control than most pocket-sized pistols. It is easy to conceal inside the waistband or in a pocket holster, and the compensator makes the 380 noticeably softer shooting.
Trigger and Controls
The flat trigger has a crisp break and short reset, helping you shoot accurately even with a short sight radius. Practice disengaging the thumb safety as part of your draw so it becomes automatic.
Sights and Optics
An Ameriglo Protector LumiGreen front night sight pairs with a blacked-out square-notch rear for quick, high-contrast aiming in any light.
The 380 ACP Cartridge
The 380 ACP is a mild-recoiling cartridge that is easy to control, a smart choice for compact carry guns and recoil-sensitive shooters.
Setup and Accessories
A good holster is the most important accessory for any carry pistol. Choose one that covers the trigger guard completely and holds the gun securely, then add a sturdy gun belt, spare magazines, and a weapon light if the frame has a rail. Practice drawing and reloading with an unloaded gun until it feels natural.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner’s manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the pistol and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner’s manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the breech face and slide rails. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
