Description
The SIG Sauer ROMEO-X Enclosed Pro FDE is a fully enclosed pistol red dot with a red circle dot reticle and a flat dark earth (FDE) finish. Because the emitter is sealed inside the housing, rain, dust and lint cannot block the dot the way they can on an open sight. SIG built it for carry and duty pistols that see real weather and daily wear.
SIG Sauer ROMEO-X Enclosed Pro FDE Overview
SIG Sauer catalogs this sight as SORX1302. It uses the PRO footprint, the same pattern as the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro. The housing is CNC machined from 7075 aluminum, and the 24mm aspherical glass lens is argon purged and sealed. The sight measures about 1.83 in long, 1.23 in wide and 0.94 in high, and it is rated IPX-7 waterproof.
The Reticle
SIG lists this FDE model as the Pro with its circle dot reticle, a small center dot inside a larger circle. The circle pulls your eye to the aiming point fast at close range, and the small dot gives you precision when you need a careful shot. Our distributor feed describes it as a 6 MOA illuminated circle with red dot, which does not match the SIG description, so contact us if the exact reticle size matters for your build.
Brightness and Battery
There are 15 brightness settings, 12 for daylight and 3 for night vision. One CR1632 battery loads from the side, so you can change it without removing the sight or losing zero. SIG rates battery life at about 20,000 hours. MOTAC motion activation dims the sight when the gun sits still and wakes it as soon as you pick it up. With a compatible magnetic holster, MAGNETAC turns the sight off when holstered and back on when you draw.
Low Deck Height
The ROMEO-X Enclosed sits very low on the slide, so standard height iron sights co-witness through the window without taller suppressor sights. That keeps the gun simple and gives you a backup if the battery ever runs down. A patent-pending beryllium copper flexure system inside the housing helps hold zero under recoil.
Mounting
On SIG pistols with a PRO cut, the sight mounts directly. SIG also lists it for Glock MOS models such as the G17, G19, G26, G34 and G47 with the right adapter plate. Always use the screws made for your slide or plate, a small drop of medium thread locker and the torque your pistol maker lists.
Backed by SIG
The ROMEO-X Enclosed is assembled in the USA and covered by the SIG Sauer Infinite Guarantee. There are no receipts or warranty cards to keep, and the coverage transfers if the sight changes hands. That is real peace of mind for an optic on a gun you trust with your life.
Zeroing Tips
Most pistol shooters zero a red dot at 15 to 25 yards. Start close to get on paper, then move back and adjust. Fire groups of three to five shots before each change, and confirm zero with the ammunition you plan to carry.
Battery Care
Replace the battery once a year on a defensive gun, even if the dot still looks fine, and keep a spare in your range bag. Wipe the lens with a soft cloth or lens pen, not a shirt tail, to keep the coatings clean. If the dot seems dim or flickers, check the battery and contacts first.
