Description
The Sig Sauer P320 SXG Reserve is what happens when SIG builds a P320 with no eye on the price sheet. The frame and slide are stainless steel finished in high polish DLC, the grip panels are machined GridLOK steel from LOK, and the barrel carries an integrated compensator. At 46.2 ounces it weighs nearly twice what a polymer P320 does, and that is entirely the point. Part 320SXGF-9-CW-RES-10, UPC 798681729364.
Weight Is the Feature
A polymer duty pistol is built to be carried. An all steel P320 frame is built to be shot. Forty-six ounces of stainless soaks up recoil in a way no polymer frame can, and the Sig Sauer P320 SXG Reserve barely moves between shots as a result. Add the integrated compensator venting gas upward at the muzzle and the sight picture stays on target through a string in a way that has to be felt rather than described.
The grip is the second half of what makes the Sig Sauer P320 SXG Reserve work. LOK GridLOK panels are machined aluminium with an aggressive grid texture, and they lock the hand in place without the sandpaper feel of stippled polymer. On a gun this heavy that matters, because the mass only helps if the pistol is not shifting in your hand.
Dimensions are 8.2 inches overall, 5.5 inches tall and 1.61 inches wide, with a 5.9-inch sight radius. The trigger is a flat-faced striker unit, there is no manual safety, and an M1913 rail sits under the dust cover.

Finish, Sights and Optics
The high polish DLC finish is the reason the Sig Sauer P320 SXG Reserve photographs the way it does. Diamond-like carbon is a genuinely hard coating, harder than nitride, and polishing it to a mirror before application gives a deep near-black lustre rather than the matte grey of a working gun. It resists wear well. It also shows every fingerprint, which is the honest trade for a showpiece finish.
X-RAY3 day night sights come fitted as standard. The front is a tritium vial inside a high-contrast ring that picks up fast in daylight and glows unaided in the dark for the ten to twelve year life of the vial, unlike fibre optic which goes black without ambient light. The slide is also cut for a PRO-footprint optic, so a ROMEO or compatible dot mounts directly with no milling.
Underneath the luxury it is still a P320, which means the serialized component is the fire control unit and the familiar parts ecosystem applies. The Sig Sauer P320 SXG Reserve is a Reserve Collection piece rather than a limited-run oddity with no support behind it.

Honest Caveats Before You Buy
This is not a carry gun and it is not pretending to be one. Forty-six ounces empty is close to three pounds, and loaded it is more. The Sig Sauer P320 SXG Reserve belongs in a range bag, on a competition belt or in a safe, and anyone buying it to carry daily will regret it within a month.
The price of a Sig Sauer P320 SXG Reserve deserves plain speech. At 2,099.99 dollars this costs three times a standard P320 that fires the same cartridge with the same trigger group and the same accuracy potential. What you are buying is the steel frame, the polished DLC, the LOK grips and the integrated compensator. That is a legitimate thing to want; it is not a performance bargain, and nobody should pretend otherwise.
The compensator brings the usual costs. Vented gas means more muzzle flash in your sight picture in low light and carbon deposited around the ports and under an optic lens. On a 46-ounce pistol the recoil reduction it adds is smaller in relative terms than it would be on a light gun, because the mass is already doing most of that work.
Two practical notes. Ten rounds is the restricted configuration; standard 21-round P320 magazines fit where the law allows, which includes Pennsylvania, so budget for a few. And holsters are a genuinely limited market for a comped, steel-framed P320 of this size, so confirm a maker supports it before you plan on carrying it to a match.
Who it suits: competitors who want a heavy, flat-shooting 9mm without a custom build, collectors who appreciate a properly finished pistol, and P320 owners who want a range gun that shares a manual of arms with their carry gun.
