SIG Sauer 516 Freedom Package 30-Round Rifle – Elite 5.56 NATO Rifle

Description

The SIG Sauer 516 Freedom Package 30-Round is a rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO with a 16-inch barrel and a 30+1 capacity. It carries the build quality SIG Sauer is known for and is ready for the range, the field, or home defense.

SIG Sauer 516 Freedom Package 30-Round Overview

This SIG Sauer firearm is built with the same quality and attention to detail that has made SIG a standard for military, law enforcement, and civilian shooters.

Carry and Use

It is built for dependable performance at the range and in the field.

Trigger and Controls

The controls are well placed and easy to learn, and the trigger is consistent from shot to shot.

Sights and Optics

The flat-top receiver or rail accepts the optic of your choice, from a red dot to a magnified riflescope, so you can set it up for the way you shoot.

Caliber

The 5.56 NATO cartridge is light, flat shooting, and easy to control, and the rifle also handles .223 Remington ammunition. It is the standard round for AR-15 rifles, and ammunition is widely available.

Why SIG Sauer

SIG Sauer traces its roots back more than 150 years, and its pistols and rifles are carried by the U.S. military, federal agencies, and police departments across the country. That track record means proven designs, quality materials, and strong support for parts and accessories.

The Freedom Package

This package pairs a SIG516 G3 rifle with a base model P365 9mm pistol in one purchase, so you get a full-size defensive rifle and a carry pistol together. The 516 G3 runs on a short-stroke gas piston that keeps the action cleaner and cooler than a direct-impingement AR, and the P365 is one of the most popular concealed-carry pistols on the market. Because the package includes a handgun, the buyer must be 21 or older and the transfer follows handgun rules at your dealer.

Factory Features

Here is how this model is configured from the factory:

• SIG516 G3 short-stroke piston rifle
• 16-inch threaded barrel
• 30-round magazine
• Includes a base model P365 9mm pistol with an optic-ready slide
• P365 has a 3.1-inch barrel and two 10-round magazines
• Optic Ready

In the Field

The SIG Sauer 516 Freedom Package 30-Round is ready for the range, the field, or home defense. With 30 rounds on board, you have plenty of capacity. Pair it with a quality optic, sling, and case and it is ready to go. Mount a quality optic, zero it at your preferred distance, and the rifle will reward you with consistent groups. A sling and a hard case make it easy to transport to the range or the field.

Care and Cleaning

Cleaning is straightforward. Unload the rifle, field-strip it according to the manual, clean the bore with a brush and patches, wipe carbon from the bolt and chamber, and apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points. Wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage, and keep the optic lens clean and its mounting screws snug.

Before You Buy

Federal law requires firearm purchases to go through a licensed dealer with a background check, and buyers must be 18 or older to purchase a rifle. Some states and localities restrict magazine capacity and certain features, so check your local laws before you order. We ship to the FFL dealer of your choice, and your dealer handles the background check and transfer.
