Description
The Savage Mark II Minimalist 22 LR OD Green is a bolt-action rimfire rifle with an 18-inch threaded sporter carbon steel barrel, a OD green laminate Minimalist stock, a 10-round detachable magazine, and a user-adjustable trigger. It weighs about 5.68 lbs and is built for accurate, dependable shooting.
Savage Mark II Minimalist 22 LR OD Green Overview
The Mark II Minimalist pairs Savage’s proven Mark II bolt action with a skeletonized, ultralight laminate stock and a short threaded barrel, creating a trim, handy rimfire that carries easily all day. The 22 LR is the most popular cartridge in the world for good reason: ammunition is affordable and easy to find, recoil is almost nonexistent, and it is quiet enough for plinking, squirrel hunting, and hours of practice.
Barrel and Action
The 18-inch carbon steel sporter barrel has a matte black finish, a 1:16 twist matched to 22 LR bullets, and a muzzle threaded 1/2-28 with a protective cap for a suppressor or muzzle device where local law allows.
Stock and Fit
The OD green laminate stock is a Boyds Minimalist design, with a skeletonized shape that strips away excess weight while keeping a solid, comfortable grip. Laminate is stiff and resists moisture better than solid wood, and every stock shows its own grain.
Optics Ready
Two-piece Weaver-style bases come installed, so mounting a rimfire scope is quick and simple.
User-Adjustable Trigger
Savage’s user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets you set your own pull weight for a crisp, clean break, a big advantage on small targets. The center safety blade helps prevent accidental discharge, and the light, predictable pull helps new shooters build good habits.
Magazine and Handling
The 10-round detachable magazine loads easily and drops free for quick, safe unloading. Spare magazines make range days more productive.
In the Field
Rimfire rifles often prefer one load over another, so try a few brands of 22 LR to see which groups best in your barrel. Lighter, faster bullets are great for small pests, while heavier bullets buck the wind better. Pair the rifle with a quality rimfire scope and a steady rest, and you will be surprised how far you can make precise hits.
Care and Cleaning
Rimfire ammunition leaves more fouling than most centerfire loads, so a little routine care keeps the Savage Mark II Minimalist 22 LR OD Green running smoothly and shooting accurately. After a range session, wipe down the bolt and chamber area, run a few patches through the bore, and put a light coat of oil on exposed metal. Store the rifle in a dry place and it will give you years of dependable service.
