Description
The Savage B22 FV 22 LR is a bolt-action rimfire rifle with a 21-inch heavy carbon steel barrel, a black synthetic stock, a 10-round detachable magazine, and a user-adjustable trigger.
Savage B22 FV 22 LR Overview
Savage has built a reputation for accurate, dependable firearms at fair prices, and the B Series FV continues that tradition with practical features that matter in the field and at the range. It is the kind of gun that earns a permanent place in the safe because it simply works, shot after shot, without fuss or expensive upgrades. The 22 LR is the most popular cartridge in the world for good reason: ammunition is affordable and easy to find, recoil is almost nonexistent, and it is quiet enough for plinking, squirrel hunting, and hours of practice.
Barrel and Action
The 21-inch heavy carbon steel barrel has a matte blued finish and a 1:16″ twist matched to 22 LR bullets. The heavier profile steadies the rifle and resists heat for tight groups from a rest. The barrel is button-rifled for uniform grooves and consistent accuracy.
Stock and Fit
The black synthetic stock is built to handle real-world use, and synthetic material will not swell or warp in rain or humidity.
Sights and Optics
The rifle is ready for the sighting system that suits your use; check the specifications below for sights and mounting options.
Trigger
Savage’s user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets you set your own pull weight for a crisp, clean break, and the center safety blade helps prevent accidental discharge. A light, predictable trigger makes accurate shooting much easier.
Capacity and Handling
The 10-round detachable magazine loads easily and makes unloading quick and safe. Spare magazines make range days more productive.
In the Field
Rimfire guns often prefer one load over another, so try a few brands of 22 LR to find the one that groups best in your barrel. Pair it with a quality optic and a steady rest for the best results.
Ownership and Value
A quality rimfire is one of the most useful guns a family can own. It teaches fundamentals, controls pests, fills the freezer with small game, and provides endless low-cost practice. Savage rimfires are known for accuracy that punches well above their price, and spare magazines, scope mounts, and accessories are easy to find.
Setting Up Your Rifle
Mount a quality rimfire scope in solid rings, set eye relief so you see a full sight picture without craning your neck, and zero at 50 yards with the ammunition you plan to use most. Shoot several groups from a steady rest before adjusting, because rimfire groups can open up as the bore warms and fouls. Once zeroed, practice from field positions so you know exactly how the rifle behaves away from the bench.
Care and Cleaning
A little routine care keeps the Savage B22 FV 22 LR running smoothly. After each outing, wipe down exposed metal, clean the bore, keep moving parts lightly lubricated, and store the gun in a dry place.
