Description
The Savage B Series Timber Tactical 22 LR is a bolt-action rimfire rifle with an 18-inch spiral fluted heavy carbon steel barrel, a OD Green laminate stock, a 10-round flush-fit rotary magazine, and a user-adjustable trigger. It weighs about 6.6 lbs and is built for accurate, dependable hunting.
Savage B Series Timber Tactical 22 LR Overview
The B Series Timber Tactical puts Savage’s accurate B Series bolt action in a precision-style laminate stock with a fluted, threaded heavy barrel, giving rimfire shooters a match-ready rifle at an affordable price. The 22 LR is the most popular cartridge in the world for good reason: ammunition is affordable and easy to find, recoil is almost nonexistent, and it is quiet enough for plinking, squirrel hunting, and hours of practice.
Barrel and Action
The 18-inch heavy carbon steel barrel has deep spiral fluting that trims weight and adds surface area to help it shed heat, a 1:16 twist matched to 22 LR bullets, and a muzzle threaded 1/2-28 for a muzzle device or suppressor where local law allows. The B Series bolt action locks up tight for consistent accuracy shot after shot.
Stock and Fit
The OD Green laminate stock has a vertical grip for a consistent, straight-back trigger press, and dual forward sling studs let you mount a sling and a bipod at the same time. Laminate is stiff and resists moisture better than solid wood, and every stock shows its own grain.
Optics Ready
A 20 MOA Picatinny rail comes installed, giving you a solid base for a rimfire scope with built-in elevation for longer shots.
User-Adjustable Trigger
B Series rifles come with a precision AccuTrigger that adjusts down to about 1.5 pounds, giving you a crisp, light break that makes small targets much easier to hit. The center safety blade helps prevent accidental discharge.
Magazine and Handling
The 10-round rotary magazine fits flush with the bottom of the stock, so it never snags and lets you shoot comfortably off bags or a bipod.
In the Field
Rimfire rifles often prefer one load over another, so try a few brands of 22 LR to see which groups best in your barrel. With a good scope and a steady rest, this rifle will ring steel at 100 yards and beyond.
Care and Cleaning
Rimfire ammunition leaves more fouling than most centerfire loads, so a little routine care keeps the Savage B Series Timber Tactical 22 LR running smoothly and shooting accurately. After a range session, wipe down the bolt and chamber area, run a few patches through the bore, and put a light coat of oil on exposed metal. Store the rifle in a dry place and it will give you years of dependable service.
