Description
The Savage Axis XP Compact LH Creedmoor is a Savage AXIS XP Compact bolt action rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor built for left handed shooters, with a 20 inch heavy sporter barrel threaded 5/8×24 and a black synthetic stock. It comes with a factory mounted and boresighted 3-9×40 scope. This listing is UPC 011356331069, Savage SKU 33106. It weighs about 7.5 lb and holds 4 rounds in a detachable box magazine.
Savage Axis XP Compact LH Creedmoor Overview
The AXIS XP is the Savage answer to hunters who want a complete, accurate rifle at a working price. The Compact version shortens the length of pull to 12.75 inches, so it fits younger hunters, smaller framed adults and anyone wearing heavy clothing, and this one has the bolt on the left side for lefties.
User Adjustable Trigger
The Savage AccuTrigger lets you set pull weight yourself from about 2.5 to 6 pounds, and its center blade prevents accidental discharge if the rifle is bumped. A clean, light trigger is a big part of why these rifles shoot well for the money.
Threaded Heavy Sporter Barrel
The 20 inch carbon steel barrel has a heavy sporter contour and a 1:8 twist, with a matte black finish. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 and capped, ready for a brake or a suppressor where legal. Suppressors remain NFA items that need an approved ATF Form 4.
Compact Synthetic Stock
The black synthetic stock has a 12.75 inch length of pull, a recoil pad and sling swivel studs. It is short enough for a young hunter to shoulder correctly, which helps with confidence and accuracy.
Bolt and Magazine
The enhanced bolt handle is easy to grab with gloves, and the detachable box magazine holds 4 rounds with an ambidextrous release. The bolt and ejection port are on the left side of the receiver.
Factory Mounted Scope
Savage mounts and boresights a 3-9×40 scope with fully multi-coated lenses and tool-less windage and elevation adjustments in medium Weaver style rings, so you only need to confirm zero with your hunting load before the season.
The 6.5 Creedmoor Cartridge
The 6.5 Creedmoor is known for mild recoil and excellent accuracy. Its long, high ballistic coefficient bullets hold energy well for deer at sensible ranges, which makes it a great choice for younger and smaller shooters.
Who It Suits
This rifle suits deer and hog hunters, first time rifle buyers and anyone who wants a dependable, accurate rifle without spending much. It is a smart pick for a truck gun or a spare rifle at camp.
State Laws
Bolt action rifles are legal in most places, but some states restrict threaded barrels and hunting rules on calibers vary. We can only ship this rifle where it is legal. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
