Description
The Savage 93 FVSS XP 22 WMR is a bolt-action rimfire rifle with a 21-inch heavy varmint stainless steel barrel, a black synthetic stock, a 5-round detachable box magazine, and a user-adjustable trigger, plus a mounted 3-9×40 scope. It weighs about 6 lbs and is built to shoot small groups.
Savage 93 FVSS XP 22 WMR Overview
The Savage Model 93 has earned a reputation as one of the most accurate magnum rimfire bolt actions on the market. It pairs a strong, simple bolt design with a quality barrel and Savage’s adjustable trigger, so it shoots well right out of the box at a price that leaves room for good ammunition and optics. The 22 WMR, or 22 Magnum, carries noticeably more energy than a 22 LR, extending your reach on foxes, groundhogs, and other small game and pests while keeping recoil and report mild.
Barrel Built for Accuracy
The 21-inch heavy varmint stainless steel barrel is button-rifled for consistent, uniform grooves, with a 1:16″ twist matched to 22 WMR bullets. The heavier profile resists heat and steadies the rifle, which helps hold groups tight from a rest. Stainless steel adds corrosion resistance for wet weather and humid conditions.
Stock and Fit
The black synthetic stock is tough, lightweight, and weather resistant, so it will not swell or warp in rain or humidity. It shrugs off bumps and scrapes in the truck or the field. A 13.9″ length of pull fits a wide range of shooters.
Mounted and Bore-Sighted Scope
This XP package comes with a 3-9x40mm scope already mounted and bore-sighted, so you can confirm your zero at the range and start hunting with minimal setup. The 3x setting is great for quick shots, and 9x helps you place precise shots on small targets.
User-Adjustable Trigger
The Savage AccuTrigger lets you set your own pull weight for a crisp, clean break. A light, predictable trigger makes a big difference on small targets, and the center safety blade helps prevent accidental discharge.
Detachable Magazine
The rifle feeds from a 5-round detachable box magazine that sits low and out of the way. Spare magazines make range sessions more productive, and removing the magazine makes unloading quick and safe between hunts.
Choosing Ammunition
Rimfire rifles often prefer one load over another, so try a few brands of 22 WMR to see which groups best in your barrel. Lighter, faster bullets are great for small pests, while heavier bullets buck the wind better. Pair the rifle with a solid rest and a quality optic, and you will be surprised how far you can make precise hits.
Care and Upkeep
Magnum rimfire rounds burn more powder than a 22 LR, so clean the bore and bolt face a little more often to keep accuracy at its best. Wipe down the metal after hunting in wet weather, store the rifle in a dry place, and check that your scope mounts stay snug. With basic care, a Savage 93 will provide many seasons of accurate shooting and plenty of fun at the range.
