Description
The Savage 64 Precision 22 LR FDE is a semi-automatic 22 LR rifle in a modern Flat Dark Earth synthetic chassis, with a 16.5-inch heavy threaded barrel, a 20-MOA rail, and a 20-round magazine. It takes the proven Model 64 action and adds precision-series upgrades for target shooters and plinkers who want more accuracy and adaptability.
Savage 64 Precision 22 LR FDE Overview
The Model 64 is a workhorse rimfire loved by plinkers and target shooters, and the 64 Precision builds on it with features usually found on much more expensive rifles. The semi-automatic action sits in a high-strength glass-filled nylon unibody chassis with M-LOK slots and an ergonomic pistol grip, giving you a stable, adjustable platform that is a lot of fun to shoot fast or slow.
Heavy Threaded Barrel
The 16.5-inch matte black carbon steel heavy barrel resists heat and steadies the rifle for tighter groups. Its 1:16 twist suits standard 22 LR loads, and the muzzle is threaded 1/2-28 so you can add a rimfire suppressor where local law allows.
Chassis, Grip, and Forend
The unibody chassis is rugged and light, and the M-LOK compatible forend accepts a bipod, light, or hand stop. An AR-compatible grip interface lets you swap in your favorite pistol grip, and an integral barricade stop helps you shoot steady off posts and props in practical rimfire matches.
Optics Rail with Built-In Elevation
The drilled and tapped receiver wears a one-piece 20 MOA rail. The built-in elevation helps you dial farther with your scope, which is useful when you start stretching a 22 LR out to 100 yards and beyond.
20-Round Magazine
This version ships with a 20-round detachable magazine, so you spend more time shooting and less time reloading. Check your local laws on magazine capacity before ordering.
Care and Accessories
Blowback rimfires run best when kept reasonably clean, so wipe the bolt face and chamber after a long session and add a light coat of oil to the bolt rails. Most 22 LR rifles prefer one load over another, so try a few brands of standard and high-velocity ammunition to find the one that groups best and cycles most reliably. Spare magazines, a sling, and a rimfire optic are smart first upgrades.
Built for Fun and Practice
A semi-auto 22 LR is one of the best ways to build real shooting skill. Ammunition is affordable, recoil is almost nonexistent, and the quiet report keeps sessions relaxed for new shooters and seasoned hands alike. Use it to sharpen trigger control and sight alignment before deer season, introduce kids and friends to the shooting sports, or simply spend an afternoon ringing steel and knocking over cans. Few rifles deliver as many smiles per dollar as a dependable Savage rimfire.
