Sauer 100 Pantera XT 6.5 Creedmoor 20 – Rugged Black Cerakote Ergo Max Rifle

Description

The Sauer 100 Pantera XT, model S1PAXT65C, is a compact 6.5 Creedmoor with a 20 inch fluted and threaded barrel, black Cerakote metal and Sauer’s black Ergo Max synthetic stock with an adjustable comb. It holds 5+1 in a removable double-row magazine and comes ready for a scope on its drilled and tapped steel receiver.

Sauer 100 Pantera XT 6.5 Creedmoor 20 Overview

The Pantera XT is the tactical-leaning member of the Sauer 100 family, made in Germany with a cold hammer-forged barrel. Its semi-weight fluted barrel balances steadiness with weight, and the short 20 inch length makes it easy to maneuver from a blind, truck or tree stand. The 60 degree bolt throw and three locking lugs give fast, smooth cycling with room for large scope eyepieces.

Ergo Max Stock With Adjustable Comb

The Ergo Max is Sauer’s own synthetic stock. Its comb adjusts for height so you can get a solid cheek position behind a scope mounted in taller rings. It is lighter and less expensive than the H-S Precision stock offered on other Pantera models, though not as stiff under heavy bipod loading. For most hunting and practical range use it is more than adequate.

Trigger and Safety

Distributors list the single-stage trigger as adjustable from about 2.25 to 4.25 pounds. The three-position safety locks the bolt closed, allows unloading with the trigger blocked, or fires. The removable double-row magazine makes loading and unloading at the truck quick and safe.

Short Barrel Considerations

A 20 inch barrel costs the 6.5 Creedmoor a modest amount of velocity compared with a 24 inch tube, and it adds a little muzzle blast. In exchange the rifle is handier and balances well with a suppressor. The muzzle is threaded; distributor listings do not state the pitch, so confirm it before you buy a brake or mount.

Suppressors and Brakes

A suppressor is an NFA item that requires an approved ATF Form 4 and must be legal where you live and hunt. MAG5 Firearms does not sell NFA items. A brake needs no paperwork but is very loud to bystanders. Keep the thread protector on when shooting without a muzzle device.

Best Uses

This is a sensible all-rounder for whitetails, coyotes and steel matches. The 6.5 Creedmoor has mild recoil, a huge selection of factory loads and moderate ammunition cost. Sauer advertises sub-MOA accuracy for the 100 series with quality ammunition, so pair it with a scope worthy of that potential.

State Laws and Ownership

Bolt-action hunting rifles are legal in most states, but some states and localities restrict threaded barrels, require specific hunting calibers or limit suppressor use. Hunting regulations also vary by species and season. Pennsylvania permits the 6.5 Creedmoor for deer and bear during rifle seasons. Check your state and local rules before you order.
