Description
The SAR USA SAR9 Compact Gen3 9mm OD is the Gen3 version of Sarsilmaz’s SAR9 Compact, a striker-fired 9mm with an OD green polymer frame, a forged steel optics-ready slide and tritium night sights. It ships with two 15-round magazines. Sarsilmaz is Turkey’s largest firearms maker and a long-time supplier to NATO militaries, and SAR USA imports its pistols. This listing is UPC 810075873696, model SAR9CG3OD.
SAR USA SAR9 Compact Gen3 9mm OD Overview
3 ounces unloaded. The forged steel slide is cut for RMSc-footprint red dots, with adapters available, and has lightening cuts and aggressive serrations for a solid grip with bare or gloved hands. Sights are tritium front and rear. 6 pounds, the grip has modular backstraps and side panels, and a Picatinny rail on the dust cover takes a light. Safeties are a trigger safety and internal safeties.
Optic Ready
The RMSc optic cut fits many micro red dots such as the Shield RMSc, Holosun 407K and 507K and similar footprints, and adapters are available for others. Mounting a dot makes fast, accurate shots easier, especially for aging eyes.
Night Sights
Tritium front and rear sights glow in the dark without batteries, which helps in a dark house or a dim parking lot. They also work as backup sights if you mount a red dot.
Ergonomics
Swap backstraps and side panels to fit your hand. A good fit improves recoil control and trigger finger placement, so try the combinations at the range.
Value
The SAR9 has earned a reputation as one of the best values in a full-featured 9mm. You get a forged steel slide, night sights, an optic cut and two magazines for less than many big-name pistols. Resale value is lower than the most popular brands, and holster choices are narrower, so check holster availability for the SAR9 Compact.
Spec Note
Some distributor listings describe this model number as the full-size SAR9 Sport with a bronze frame. This listing is the SAR9 Compact Gen3 in OD green, matching the model number SAR9CG3OD.
State Laws
Some states limit magazine capacity to 10 rounds and require handguns to be on an approved roster. Check your local laws and confirm your dealer can transfer handguns.
Care and Maintenance
Field strip the pistol after each range session, clean the barrel and breech face, and apply a few drops of quality lubricant to the slide rails and barrel hood. Check the tritium sights and optic screws periodically, and use thread locker when you mount a red dot. Store the pistol unloaded in a locked safe or lockbox away from children.
Choosing Ammunition
Use affordable full metal jacket loads for practice and premium jacketed hollow points for defense. Fire at least a few hundred rounds, including a couple of boxes of your chosen carry load, to confirm reliable feeding before you depend on the pistol. Standard pressure and +P loads are common, but use +P ammunition only if the manufacturer approves it for your model, and avoid steel-cased ammunition if you want the cleanest, most consistent function.
Recommended Accessories
A quality holster, spare magazines, a weapon light and a micro red dot complete the package. Eye and ear protection and a cleaning kit should go in every range bag.
