Description
The Ruger Security-9 15 Round is a pistol chambered in 9mm with a 4-inch barrel and a 15+1 capacity. This version has a Blued barrel, a Black, High-Performance, Glass-Filled Nylon grip frame, and a Black Oxide slide.
Ruger Security-9 15 Round Overview
The Ruger Security-9 and Security-380 are affordable, reliable defensive pistols that use Ruger’s Secure Action fire control with a light, crisp trigger pull and an internal hammer. They are built to be easy to shoot and easy to own.
Design and Features
This configuration has a 4-inch barrel and a 15-round capacity. It comes with a Blued barrel, a Black, High-Performance, Glass-Filled Nylon grip frame, and a Black Oxide slide. It weighs about 24.3 oz. with an overall length of 7.24″.
Handling and Carry
These pistols are a good value for home defense and concealed carry, with plenty of holsters and accessories available.
Trigger and Controls
The Secure Action trigger has a short, light pull and a short reset, and models with the bladed trigger safety stay simple to run. The slide is easy to rack for shooters with less hand strength.
Sights and Optics
The factory sights give a clear, quick sight picture, and the optic-ready slide lets you add a red dot whenever you are ready.
The 9mm Cartridge
The 9mm Luger is the most popular handgun cartridge in the world. It offers manageable recoil, good capacity, and a huge selection of affordable practice and defensive ammunition.
Setup and Accessories
A good holster is the most important accessory for any carry pistol. Choose one that covers the trigger guard completely and holds the gun securely, then add a sturdy gun belt, spare magazines, and a weapon light if the frame has a rail. Practice drawing and reloading with an unloaded gun until it feels natural.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the pistol and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the breech face and slide rails. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
