Description

Ruger American Rimfire 22 LR Rifle: Precision Meets Versatility

The Ruger American Rimfire 22 LR is a bolt-action rimfire rifle built for shooters who want dependable accuracy without a premium price tag. Featuring a 22-inch alloy steel barrel with a satin blued finish, this rifle pairs classic craftsmanship with modern engineering. The 1:16-inch RH twist rate and six-groove rifling work together to stabilize.22 Long Rifle ammunition for consistent shot placement at the range or in the field. Whether you are teaching a new shooter the fundamentals or stocking up on affordable practice ammunition, this rifle delivers the kind of smooth, repeatable performance that builds real confidence behind the trigger.

Ruger designed this rifle around a lightweight black synthetic stock with interchangeable stock modules, allowing shooters to fine-tune comb height and length of pull for a more personalized fit. At 13.75 inches, the factory length of pull suits a wide range of shooters, from smaller-framed adults to growing teens. The 60-degree bolt throw shortens the distance your hand travels during cycling, which speeds up follow-up shots and reduces fatigue during long range sessions. With an overall length of 41 inches and a weight around 6 pounds, it remains easy to carry, maneuver, and store, making it a practical choice for the truck, cabin, or safe.

Key Features and Benefits

One of the standout features of this rifle is the Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger, which lets shooters tune pull weight between 3 and 5 pounds to match their preference. A crisp, adjustable trigger makes a measurable difference in accuracy, especially for younger or newer shooters who are still developing trigger control. Up front, a fiber optic sight gathers ambient light for a bright, fast sight picture, while the fully adjustable rear sight allows for precise windage and elevation corrections without needing to send the rifle to a gunsmith. Together, these features give shooters the tools to dial in their point of impact and shoot with confidence straight out of the box.

The 22-inch alloy steel barrel is finished in a durable satin blue that resists everyday wear while maintaining a classic, traditional appearance. Inside, the 1:16-inch right-hand twist and six-groove rifling are specifically matched to standard velocity and high-velocity.22 Long Rifle loads, helping the rifle produce tight, consistent groups. The bolt-action design is simple, reliable, and easy to maintain, making it an excellent option for hunters, plinkers, and small-game shooters alike. With a 10-round capacity, shooters get plenty of rounds on tap for range sessions or field use without needing to reload constantly, and the detachable magazine makes reloading fast and straightforward.

Beyond the specs on paper, this rifle is built to be genuinely enjoyable to shoot. The black synthetic stock shrugs off moisture, temperature swings, and rough handling far better than traditional wood, which matters for anyone who hunts in unpredictable weather or stores a rifle in a truck or barn. Sling swivel studs come installed, so adding a carry strap is quick and requires no gunsmithing. Because the stock modules are interchangeable, the same action can be adjusted as a young shooter grows, extending the useful life of the rifle for years of range trips, small-game hunts, and pest control around the property.
