Ruger American Gen II Predator 450 BM Overview
The Ruger American Rifle Generation II updates Ruger’s popular budget bolt action with a spiral-fluted, threaded barrel, a Cerakote finish, an adjustable length-of-pull stock with a splatter texture, and AI-style magazines. It keeps the original’s user-adjustable Marksman Adjustable trigger and Power Bedding integral bedding block for consistent accuracy.
Design and Features
This configuration has a 22-inch barrel and a 3-round capacity. It comes with a Burnt Bronze Cerakote barrel, a Green Splatter Gen II American Barrel StyleNon-Fluted stock, and a 11/16″-24 threaded muzzle. It uses Single-Stack magazines. It weighs about 6.4 lb. with an overall length of 43.25″.
Handling in the Field
Light weight and an adjustable length of pull make it easy to fit to different shooters, and the AI-style magazine is a widely available, reliable pattern. It is a practical hunting rifle that still has the features precision shooters like.
Action and Trigger
The three-lug bolt has a 70-degree throw for quick cycling and plenty of scope clearance, and the Marksman Adjustable trigger can be set from about 3 to 5 pounds. The tang safety is easy to reach without breaking your grip.
Sights and Optics
Mount the optic of your choice with quality rings or a mount, and zero it with the load you plan to use.
The 450 Bushmaster Cartridge
The 450 Bushmaster is a hard-hitting straight-wall cartridge, legal for deer in many straight-wall states, with big energy at woods ranges and noticeably more recoil than the 350 Legend.
Setup and Accessories
Start with a quality optic and solid rings or a mount, then add a sling for carrying and a bipod or shooting bag for steady rests. Test a few loads for accuracy and settle on the one your rifle likes best. A hard case protects your investment on the way to the range or the field.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the rifle and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the bolt face and chamber. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
