Description
The Ruger 77-Series 77/44 44 Rem Mag is a rifle chambered in 44 Rem Mag with a 16.60-inch barrel and a 4+1 capacity. This version has a Kryptek Obskura Nox Camo Synthetic stock, and a 5/8″-24 threaded muzzle.
Ruger 77-Series 77/44 44 Rem Mag Overview
The Ruger 77/357 and 77/44 are compact bolt-action rifles chambered for revolver cartridges, built on Ruger’s 77-series action with a rotary magazine. They are great companions to a revolver in the same caliber and a favorite for deer hunting in straight-wall areas.
Design and Features
This configuration has a 16.60-inch barrel and a 4-round capacity. It comes with a Kryptek Obskura Nox Camo Synthetic stock, and a 5/8″-24 threaded muzzle. It weighs about 5.3 lb. with an overall length of 36″.
Handling in the Field
Light and handy, these rifles are pleasant to shoot and ideal for close-range deer hunting and the range.
Action and Trigger
The three-position safety and short bolt throw make them easy to run, and the receiver has integral scope mounts with Ruger rings included.
Sights and Optics
Mount the optic of your choice with quality rings or a mount, and zero it with the load you plan to use.
The 44 Rem Mag Cartridge
The 44 Rem Mag offers a good balance of power, accuracy, and recoil for its intended use.
Setup and Accessories
Start with a quality optic and solid rings or a mount, then add a sling for carrying and a bipod or shooting bag for steady rests. Test a few loads for accuracy and settle on the one your rifle likes best. A hard case protects your investment on the way to the range or the field.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the rifle and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the bolt face and chamber. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
Your First Range Trip
Mount your optic, bore sight it, then fire your first groups at 25 yards before moving to 100. Let the barrel cool between strings, and record your zero and the load you used. Wear eye and ear protection, keep the muzzle in a safe direction, and clean the bore when you get home.
