Rossi RS22 22LR 18 Overview

The RS22 is a Rossi bolt action rifle. A bolt action is simple, strong and accurate, which is why it remains the top choice for hunting and precision shooting.

Action and Controls

The RS22 is a bolt action rifle. It holds 10+1 rounds. The safety is crossbolt.

Barrel

The 18 inch barrel is alloy steel with a threaded profile and a 1:16″ RH twist. Sights are Adj Fiber Optic Front & Rear.

Stock and Fit

The stock is polymer with a black finish. Check the length of pull against your own fit, especially if you shoot in heavy clothing. Metal surfaces wear Matte Black.

Size and Handling

Overall length is 36.20″. It weighs about 5.17 lbs. A steady rest, a good sling and practice from field positions will help you shoot it well.

Ammo and Practice

Rimfire ammo varies a lot between brands, so try a few to find what feeds and groups best in this rifle before you buy in bulk.

The 22 LR

The 22 LR is cheap, quiet and has almost no recoil, which makes it the best round for practice, small game and new shooters.

Small Game and Plinking

This rifle is great for small game, plinking and teaching new shooters, with cheap ammo and almost no recoil.

Optics and Accessories

Plan on quality scope rings or mounts, a sling, a hard or soft case and a cleaning kit. A bipod or shooting sticks help a lot for steady shots in the field or at the bench.

Buying Tips

Budget for quality optics or sights, a sling and ammo, and confirm your zero at the distances you expect to shoot.

Care and Value

Clean the bore and action after each range trip or hunt, keep moving parts lightly oiled and wipe the finish after handling. A well kept Rossi holds its value.

State Laws

Some states limit semi-auto features, magazine capacity and hunting calibers. Check your local law before you buy. Pennsylvania buyers can transfer at our Collegeville shop or at any FFL.
