Rossi R95 45-70 Triple Black Overview
This Rossi lever-action rifle brings the classic American lever gun to an accessible price, with a smooth action, a tubular magazine, and traditional lines.
Design and Features
This configuration has a 16.50-inch barrel and a 5-round capacity. It has a Black Oxide frame, a Black Oxide barrel, and Drift Adjustable front and Peep Hole Sight on Picatinny Rail rear sights. It weighs 107.20 Oz. unloaded and measures 35.50 In. overall.
Handling in the Field
Lever guns are light, slim, and quick handling, ideal for plinking, small game, and woods hunting.
Action and Trigger
Working the lever ejects the spent case and loads a fresh round, and the half-cock hammer and safety keep handling simple.
Sights and Optics
Mount the optic of your choice with quality rings or a mount, and zero it with the load you plan to use.
The 45-70 Government Cartridge
The 45-70 Government offers a good balance of power, accuracy, and recoil for its intended use.
Setup and Accessories
Start with a quality optic and solid rings or a mount, then add a sling for carrying and a bipod or shooting bag for steady rests. Test a few loads for accuracy and settle on the one your rifle likes best. A hard case protects your investment on the way to the range or the field.
Ownership Tips
Read the owner manual fully before your first range trip, and keep the manual, box, and receipt with your records for warranty service and resale. Unload the rifle and confirm it is empty before cleaning. Field-strip it according to the owner manual, scrub the bore with a brush and patches, and wipe carbon from the bolt face and chamber. Apply a light coat of quality gun oil to the contact points, and wipe the exterior with a lightly oiled cloth before storage.
State Laws
Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, and transfer rules vary by state and locality. Check your local laws before ordering, and ask your receiving dealer if you are unsure whether this configuration is legal where you live.
Ordering and Transfer
When you order a firearm from MAG5 Firearms, we ship it to the licensed dealer you choose. Your dealer completes the ATF Form 4473 and the background check, and may charge a transfer fee. Local buyers can complete the transfer at our shop. Bring a valid ID, and check your state waiting period before you plan a hunt or a range trip.
Safe Storage
Store the firearm unloaded in a locked safe or case, with ammunition kept separately. A cable lock or trigger lock is a good backup, especially in a home with children or visitors. Keep the original box and paperwork, and record the serial number in a safe place in case the gun is ever lost or stolen.
