Description
The North American Arms Iris 22 WMR is a ported 1-5/8 inch .22 Magnum mini revolver with teal Cerakote accents and white pearlite grips. It combines NAA’s longer magnum barrel with functional porting and one of the brightest color schemes in the lineup.

North American Arms Iris 22 WMR Overview
NAA catalogs the Iris as the 22M-PB. The 1-5/8 inch barrel is ported near the muzzle to reduce muzzle rise, and the gun measures 5.13 inches long and 6.5 ounces. Sights are a simple bead, the action is single action, and the cylinder holds five rounds. Our distributor title calls it “SS IRIS”; the frame and cylinder are stainless, while the barrel and other accents carry the Cerakote color shown in NAA’s photos.
Why the Longer Barrel
The 1-5/8 inch barrel is half an inch longer than the snub minis, which helps velocity slightly and makes the gun a little easier to aim. It still fits most pocket holsters made for the longer magnum frame, so you give up very little concealability.

About the Porting
Ports vent gas upward to help keep the gun flatter. The tradeoff is more blast and flash directed up and out, plus carbon that builds up in the ports and needs scrubbing. Be careful about shooting from retention positions close to the body or face, where ported guns can throw debris toward you.
Single Action Operation
Like every NAA mini revolver, it is single action only: you cock the hammer for each shot and the spur trigger drops into place. For carry, NAA provides safety notches between the chambers so the hammer can rest between cartridges rather than on a live rim. Learn the half-cock and rest-notch procedure from the manual before you carry it. Reloads require removing the cylinder, so treat the five rounds on board as what you have.

Ammunition
The Iris is .22 Magnum only. Short-barrel loads such as CCI Uppercut make the most of the limited barrel length. Rimfire cartridges are inherently less reliable than centerfire rounds, so an occasional dud is normal; in a revolver you simply cock the hammer again to bring a fresh chamber under it. Magnum rimfire costs more than .22 LR, so budget for practice.
Carry Options
A pocket holster sized for the 1-5/8 inch magnum frame works well. NAA also offers this finish with a folding holster grip as a separate model, and standard magnum-frame holster grips fit this revolver.
State Laws and Ownership
Mini revolvers are legal in most states, but a few jurisdictions add their own hurdles. California and Massachusetts only allow sales of models on their approved handgun rosters, and several states require a purchase permit or firearm ID card first. Pennsylvania buyers complete a PICS check at the receiving dealer. Carry rules also differ widely, so confirm your state and local laws, including permit reciprocity, before you carry it.
