The North American Arms 22MSC Combo is the snub-nosed version of NAA’s convertible Magnum mini revolver. It has a 1-1/8 inch barrel, rosewood bird head grips, a half-moon front sight, and comes with two cylinders so you can shoot either 22 Magnum or 22 Long Rifle.

Snub Barrel Trade-offs

Switching Cylinders
Press the base pin latch, pull the pin and let the cylinder drop into your palm. Slide in the other cylinder and replace the pin until it locks. Do this over a table, since the parts are small. Match ammunition to cylinder every time; firing the wrong cartridge can split cases and damage the gun.
Pocket Carry Done Right

Keep nothing else in that pocket. Pocket lint collects in the action, so check and clean the gun often if you carry it daily.
Shooting the Smallest Grip
The rosewood bird head grip holds two fingers. Rest the support hand under the butt rather than wrapping it near the front of the cylinder, where gas escapes at the gap. Cock the hammer with the strong-hand thumb, aim with the half-moon front sight and press. Distances of 3 to 7 yards are realistic for most shooters with practice.
Backup, Not Primary
A five-shot rimfire with a 1-1/8 inch barrel is best thought of as a last-resort backup or a fun, very portable plinker. Reloading takes time because the cylinder has to come out. If personal protection is your main goal, pair it with a primary handgun, and train with both. Many owners find the 22MSC rides along in situations where a larger gun would simply be left at home, which is where its value lies.
